We live in the village and had booked a table with our dog in the Russell room. We have been numerous times over the last 10 years and mostly it has been excellent (with a few blips) and this time was no different. Staff turnover quite regularly in any hospitality venue and the current staff seem to be very helpful and sympathetic to guests needs. Special shout out to Matilda and Mario (hopefully I’ve got his name right - apologies if not). Food and drink excellent and we really enjoyed our evening. We will be back in the next few weeks. Thank you again for your hard work and making our visit memorable.
Girly group of six of us visited this afternoon to celebrate a birthday. We had pre booked the afternoon tea, which was exceptional. The staff were polite, able to explain in detail what was on offer, and on the ball regarding any food allergies. The only downside was that James Martin wasn't there.
Excellent location, great service and fantastic facilities
Summer temps needed air conditioning
Amazing hotel in a wonderful location, we have stayed a couple of times now and it has been special on both occasions.
Very unique and lovely hotel. Great location. Nice staff. The breakfast was yummy- nice variety. Would come again
All the rooms were very unique. Very old style which was cool, but made some rooms feel very dark. Overall lovely.
The authentic British environment.
Our stay at the Lygon Arms was by chance. We added an extra day to our itinerary and weren’t disappointed with our choice to stay here. The charm, the hospitality, the dining experience - breakfast and dinner were all on point. Did I mention the charm!! Don’t miss this… we’ll be back!
I stayed at the Lygon Arms, Broadway, in June 2026 for a few days. It is a wonderful place with a great staff. The food was outstanding, for both breakfast and dinner. The courtyard and spa were relaxing. They had wellington boots if needed, along with a doggie or human foot wash and brush. I highly recommend! Depending on your room, you may be in sight of the Broadway Tower.
This was our first experience in the Cotswolds, though we have traveled many places, just not in the UK. We chose the Lygon Arms from a referral from our friends that had stayed there as well as our travel agent. We were totally surprised at how nice the inn was and how unbelievably fantastic the staff treated us during our stay. We also ate dinner at the grill in the hotel, which is the nice restaurant. It was by far the best meal we had in the Cotswolds. The location made it easy to either go to some of the towns, or just walk around the shops locally. We would definitely go back and would stay and eat here again.
Beautiful old authentic with so much character in a superb location

Very atmospheric and relaxing

We had a one night stay at the Lygon last week. Couldn't get the room we wanted since we booked it relatively recently. We had a 'Classic Room' - That was very good though.. (thanks to Atilla who took our cases up). Couldn't fault the room.. comfortable bed.. bedsheets crisp and clean.. a small bottle of Champagne was a nice touch.
We had booked a table for the James Martin Grill. I wasn't sure what to expect here. Food was good, (and beautiful surroundings) but I wouldn't say it was Michelin standard. (should be more options than just triple cooked chips with the fillet) - Breakfast next morning again food was very good, but restaurant very busy and lots of noisy children and crying babies. Not quite the ambience we were expecting. Guess that's par for the course for a town centre hotel.. but not really what we wanted.
A mention of Yuri who was very helpful at the checkout
A very pleasant stay overall, and in a beautiful village. It doesn't quite make the 5 stars for us, but wouldn't rule out returning...
We held our wedding at The Lygon Arms in May 2026 and it was, quite simply, everything we could have hoped for and more. A small, intimate celebration with close family and friends, and every single detail was executed to perfection.
The ceremony took place in the beautiful Cromwell Room — a stunning and historic setting that gave the occasion exactly the warmth and character we wanted. Afterwards, we moved outside to the private courtyard for champagne and cream scones in the sunshine. It felt magical — relaxed, elegant, and utterly timeless.
Our private dinner in the Champagne Bar was a real highlight. The food was exceptional; the filet steak in particular was cooked to absolute perfection. Every course was faultless and the whole dining experience felt genuinely special.
Two people deserve a particular mention. Oliver, who waited on us throughout the entire day, was an outstanding host — attentive, warm, and went so far above and beyond what we expected that we simply couldn't have imagined better. And Melissa, our wedding organiser, was an absolute star. She made the whole process feel effortless and her attention to detail showed in every element of the day. The flowers — sourced locally — were simply beautiful.
And then there was the weather. Even that played its part!
If you're considering The Lygon Arms for a wedding, don't hesitate. For an intimate celebration where you want everything to feel personal, unhurried and truly special, it is the perfect venue. We will treasure the memories forever.
