A lovely stay but some disappointments!
Pros:

A beautiful hotel in an amazing setting.

Cons:

Aspects of the room were disappointing. Bath would not hold water ( faulty plug) water running hot and cold in shower. Cheap hairdryer with no heat adjustment.

Most service was excellent , in particular waiting staff in the breakfast room, however occasional problems. Waited an hour for milk to be delivered to room and had to ring again as my request had been forgotten. No apology made. Room not cleaned so when requested at 4 pm I was told that it could be up until 6pm. Never waited this long in other hotels. Not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel.

disappointing stay at a nice hotel
Pros:

the room was very nice, although had asked for a bath and got a shower

Cons:

The service in the dining room was very poor, fifteen minutes for a drink and half an hour between each course. Nowhere was that busy so no excuse for such poor service. I also got severe food poisoning from the mussels that I ate,so not a happy experience. On departure, nobody asked if I had enjoyed the stay or anything, very disappointing

Pros:

Lots of history in the hotel. Sympathetically decorated. Lots of different and interesting rooms.
Our room was in the annex however this was decorated to look and feel part of the main building.

Cons:

Our room was on the ground floor with a nice seating and garden area outside however we were unsure about leaving the window open.

Lovely stay and fabulous staff
Pros:

Location, spa, staff and restaurants.

Cons:

If it’s a really hot day, then the rooms can be warm and not all have air con because it is a listed building. Not as bad as we expected given it was 35 degrees on the day we were there

Luxury historic hotel a really enjoyable stay
Pros:

Beautiful historic building right in the centre of a lovely small Cotswold town

The service on our second night whilst eating in the more informal Tavern was excellent - the two members of staff that we encountered were a credit to the hotel

Cons:

Overall the whole experience ( two night s- eating in the Grill and the tavern )was great . Small negative was whilst most of the staff were exceptional , a couple of younger male staff serving in the grill came across as surly and a couple of missed orders suggested they weren’t on their game .No sign of someone in overall charge of the grill - the food was excellent though

Iconic venue trading off its name and location. Needs to sharpen up to claim it’s “Luxury tag”
Pros:

Lovely looking property. Spa area lovely.

Cons:

No air conditioning in rooms not available additional fans. Not a luxury experience! Bar staff not hugely engaging or friendly but still charge “service” for just handing drink over bar. Breakfast food lovely but overall needs management. A lot of staff that don’t acknowledge you whilst waiting. Juice ran out, milk ran out. Saw a lot of people looking equally as confused/frustrated. Could be excellent experience with some management.

Pros:

What an amazing property. Wish I had a few days to stay there just because it was such a great place to stay. The grounds were beautiful. The town was beautiful. The food was excellent. Nothing bad to say.

Don’t visit during a heatwave.
Pros:

Beautiful historic building set prominently in the center of gorgeous Broadway. Breakfasts were lovely! Staff were accommodating and friendly.

Cons:

There was no aircon anywhere in the building except for the gym 😵‍💫. The rooms were dark, some with poor ventilation, especially bathrooms. There are no bar fridges in the rooms. Pillows were not comfortable. Most rooms overlook a courtyard that plays music until 9:30 and accommodates chatting guests until 10:30 🤔.

Sweaty betty metty in broadway…
Pros:

Lovely rooms etc

Cons:

What the actual… with the charge rate, get some air con.., your fans didn’t work and tbh it was unbearable- don’t book in summer unless you want sweat… (boxers this might be good for you..) it’s awful.

Stayed for 2 nights in June and had a fabulous stay, the staff are fantastic, really friendly and fun, and the room was lovely, we stayed in the main hotel. Had dinner at the James Martin restaurant and couldn't fault it and made use of the lovely Spa. Also great location! We would highly recommend!!
