Pros:

We were here for a wedding.

Cons:

The only problem is the room coffee pot did not work. I brought it to the desk and it was never replaced. We stayed 3 nights. I believe this was for the other room I reserved for our son.

Pros:

It was just fine or acceptable and late check in was easy.

Cons:

The price was way too high for the quality of stay. Rooms had non working lights in them and air was not circulating well. Had privacy curtains which felt too easy to see through so natural light was not an option in the morning from our low floor room.

Don’t stay here
Pros:

Overall, the hotel is very dirty. The beds are not fully stripped or changed with fresh sheets. During my stay, the second floor experienced bed bugs twice, specifically in rooms 219 and 220, I believe. Guests have complained about seeing bugs on the beds. The most the hotel will offer as compensation is a different room to switch to.
The second floor is supposedly designated for animals, although pets are not allowed unless they are “service dogs.” The rooms are not deep cleaned after a pet has stayed in them.
The manager, Rushell, is rude, cockeyed, and unprofessional. She treats employees with little respect and speaks to them as if they are insignificant. Employees work extremely hard but are only paid minimum wage.
Please choose another place—I’m begging you. It’s overpriced and not worth the dirty experience, both in terms of the hotel and the way people are treated.
***they have bed bugs please run. The manager has a cockeyed and not pleasant to look at***

Charged for cancelled rooms -- hassle to get charges reversed/refunded
Pros:

I had originally booked 2 rooms at this hotel for one night as a stopover on our way home. Since our plans changed, I canceled these rooms well within the free cancellation period (around 10 hours before 6 pm the day before our reservation). Despite receiving a cancellation confirmation, I later noticed that the hotel had charged me for the nights.

I called the hotel about this, and initially was met with questions about the timing of the cancellation (i.e., the person I spoke with suggested I may have cancelled too late). After approx. 24 hours passed without this charge being removed, I called the main customer line and eventually reached customer loyalty. After a lengthy call where I described the problem at this hotel and the other Marriott property I had stayed at on the same trip, the credit card charges were removed. This shouldn't have happened in the first place, but since it did, the problem should have been promptly resolved without a lengthy call to the Marriott line (know that you will be routed through an AI system and possibly have to hold for a while before eventually reaching a loyalty department representative).

The room was very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.
Pros:

Room was sort of comfortable but lacked closet space. The coffee bar in the lobby was very nice. The breakfast was EXCELLENT. The staff was always very responsive and cheerful. We had trouble with the TV. Somehow the wires were crossed. I went to the main desk and a maintenance worker came within minutes to fix it. There is a lovely outdoor sitting area with a fireplace. Great sitting out there.

Cons:

Coffee pot in the room wouldn't work. I took it to the main desk and they had no spares and never replaced it so every morning I went to get coffee in my night gown. The room closet was too small especially with the ironing board and iron in it. We were there for a wedding and it was very challenging to get our clothes hung up. I don't like that the blankets are tucked in so that you can't cover yourself with the blanket because it is too short.

Pros:

Check in was fine

Cons:

There were carpet beetle/bed bugs in my bed and hotel did not take my claim seriously. When returning home I found a bug near my luggage and it turned into an infestation at my home that I am still dealing with eliminating. I also contacted the hotel management as well.

It’s *fine*
Pros:

Lobby area was nice. However major problems at bar/bistro. No wine menu. Only one bottle of white available. Out of French fries and chicken tenders. But staff was very nice and professional.
Rest of hotel is tired and shabby. Halls were dim and dreary. This place needs a major, major refresh. Dated and dreary. But beds are comfy, nice outside area with a fireplace, nice staff. It’s *fine.*. But could do better!

Better options in the camel city
Pros:

Because my son goes to school in Winston-Salem, I have stayed at just about every hotel in town and this by far was the worst one. The lobby is fine, but the hallways are dark and bleak, and the rooms are in desperate need of renovation. The only bonus -it’s next-door to a Brazilian steakhouse. Definitely better options in the city.
