Loved the rooms, I booked the loft suite.
Super cool vibes, comfiest beds and great layout.
The key card to the gym area didnt scan so I stodd there awkwardly until someone let me in

Quiet, good location
Stained carpet and furniture. Quirky room layout.
Ease of check in was a big plus and staff were professional and friendly and helped us to the room. Great view across to the naval base the hotel facilities were very good, breakfast was available in the cafe and it was lovely. The room was quirky in a good way and comfortable.
Perhaps we were unlucky but the section we were in (3 sets of 2 rooms) was being refurbished, which I understand has to be done but perhaps don't let out the suites within that section because the drilling/vibrating and sawing started at 7am and was on the common wall that the bed abutted. Then as we tried to escape the noise with a coffee on the window seat the window cleaner appeared so we had to close the curtains, no big deal but still a bit off putting with workmen next door and outside, not sure who got the biggest surprise!!

The bathroom. We have stayed in every room category except the rock stars and all the bathrooms are tiny, totally unmanageable, and some still have shower over bath, they really let this hotel down
Great location. Very comfortable room. Ideal for a few days stay in Sydney.
It was close to the Resturant we wanted to go to.
The room was tired. The bath had crakes in it.
The room is fantastic and the location on the proximity of the botanic gardens means the opera house is but a short walk away. If you like swimming then there is an outdoor 50m pool on the ocean a short walk away.
Breakfast room. We opted to go to the Italian cafe over the road for more daylight and better coffee. The hotel's breakfast area is a bit dated and buffet style.
check-in staff were friendly & efficient but nobody helped us bring in our luggage from the street as usually has happened on arrival in our previous stays at Ovolo. the breakfast staff were excellent and Matt makes superb coffee. the lady on recption --- sorry I gorget her name [Jah????] was very kind and helped us get our luggage to the car. she was excellent
we asked for a room with a walk-in bathroom --- NOT a room for handicapped guests. we are NOT handicapped -- we just don't like showers over a bath tub --- and we have explained this point numerous times before.
I wish someone would make a note about this because we are quite frequent clients.
we didn't like at all the cramped space in the shower recess caused by it having a bench seat [for handicapped use] --- which we did not need nor want. it spoiled the comfort of the shower. the bathroom was very small and had minimal space for toiletries etc -- we have NEVER experienced this before at Ovolo in our frequent previous stays. also the drain from the hand basin in our room was blocked, and the basin took a very long time to drain each time we used it. this is unacceptable for a hotel of the standard and price of Ovolo
