It was my first time at the Westin and I loved my stay. The front desk staff are so welcoming and helpful. The lobby and work area on the second floor was clean and felt upgraded. The gym has the standard workout machines with dumbbell and benches, but it also has a Peloton machine. I liked how they provided a reusable bottle for me to use, coffee, aromatic oil to help me sleep, and bath salts for my bath. The room was quiet for most of the time, but occasionally you can hear next door (phone vibrating if theirs is close to our shared wall). But the room was spacious and relaxing. The only con was my bathtub could never fill up with water, even with the water running for 40 minutes, due to the drain not being able to be plugged entirely. They have guest parking for a fee, or you can find street parking on the side of their building. If you're staying for one night, you can also pay $5.50 to park at the Caltrain for one day.
Booked a reservation for 8/8. I call and discuss the upcoming reservation with the hotel. The woman I spoke too was unprofessional. If it were not too late to cancel with our getting a refund I would. I asked questions about the policy for a potential early check in or late check out due to my travel accommodations. She was short tempered and as I said “alright thank you…” she hung up the phone. I had additional questions to ask and was not finished with my “alright thank you for letting me know. I was also wondering about price for parking my car at the hotel”. But I didn’t get a chance to. Now I’m stuck with a reservation I don’t want.
Great place to stay
All went well.
All was great.
Came here for appointments at Stanford Medical. We expected a lot being a Westin and previous stays at other Westin’s and it did not disappoint. Truly exceptional service. The rooms were clean, smelled good and neatly organized. Very quiet stay and the bed wasn’t the best in comfort but was fine. Ate dinner at the Cafe Bar and the food was 5 star too. The location was very close to Stanford Medical Offices on Blake Wilbur which was convenient.
The Westin is conveniently located right at the entrance to Stanford University and is just a short walk to downtown Palo Alto. I hadn't stayed at the property in many years, but I found it beautifully renovated and clean. Staff were friendly and welcoming throughout the stay.
As a Bonvoy Ambassador elite member, I chose the breakfast amenity, which featured a limited buffet selection of hot and cold items. Notably, unlike most Westin properties, there is no on-site restaurant open outside of breakfast hours.
I stayed in a junior suite on the first floor that had a comfortable sitting area and a large bathroom with a separate tub and walk-in shower. Most rooms at this property face either a courtyard or the pool area; my room looked out onto a nice courtyard space. This particular room was down a hallway with only two rooms right around the corner from reception, which made it quiet. However, I still would have preferred a room on a higher floor, as noted in my Bonvoy profile preferences.
There is plenty of parking in the garage below the hotel. That said, you can also park in the surface lot between the Westin and the older Sheraton next door, which saves a lot of time getting in and out versus navigating the parking garage.
I would certainly return to the Westin again when visiting the Stanford and Palo Alto area.
Loved the location - close to Stanford and to downtown.
Nothing .
