Pros:

Location, staff, breakfast fantastic and Misha the parrot

Loverly hotel in a fantastic location.

Cons:

On arrival the air conditioning in my room was broken. The evening staff provided me with a fan and some water. I was told the manager was not available but they took my phone number so he/she could call me in the morning about this. Despite taking my phone number, (and already having my booking details), the manager never called.

Pros:

the people at the front desk were nice but rather inefficient. I asked them to print our boarding passes and I had to ask twice. One of the guys was about to print them and did so (for one person twice) but in fact, they had been printed and no one gave them to us. Also in the restaurant, they added a tip AFTER we had signed the bill (to our room). They corrected it after I complained but adding a tip without telling the customer is over the line bad behavior and unacceptable.

Cons:

inefficiency at front desk. did not volunteer to book us a taxi to the airport (we figured it out by ourselves)

Nice quaint hotel in Riga. Great location, quality.
Pros:

Everything. The room was nice, the breakfast exceptional. Location awesome. Staff polite, friendly and helpful.

Cons:

If anything, showering not the easiest if you're tall. Also, the hand held shower holder was broken.

Far Below Our Expectations for a 5-Star SLH Hotel7
Pros:

The location was very good and convenient.

Cons:

Our room faced extensive technical equipment, air-conditioning units and antennas, with constant machinery noise so intrusive that opening the windows was not an option. The air-conditioning system in the room appeared noticeably dated, and the room had still not been serviced by 2:30 pm. The hotel bar was filled with heavy cigarette and cigar smoke, so we left. Overall, the service and room experience fell far below what we expected from a 5-star SLH hotel.

A great spot in Riga's Old Town.
Pros:

Great location at the most welcoming part of the Riga's Old Town and the street without car traffic. Elegant, comfortable room with windows that open . Friendly, helpful staff. Very good, tasty breakfast.
