good value, quiet
Pros:

Fun hotel next to trolly stop; a bit of a walk for dining options but delivery was an option. Room was quiet although you do need to request one that doesn't face the interstate - you can hear road noise in those rooms.

stay here! it’s worth it!

location: close to freeway so it was convenient to drive to the beach!!
atmosphere: i felt cozy and welcomed by the place
rooms: cute and compact
value: such an amazing place for the value
cleanliness: very clean! room service did an amazing job each day
noise level: quiet and felt safe
service: every worker was kind, patient, and took such good care of us. even allowed us to stay in the same room with two reservations back to back with one being a king size and one being two queens.
amenities: i didn’t take advantage of all of them but they have a pool, free wifi, free parking, coffee, and i had a reservation with grab and go breakfast which was nice, free cruisers + more!! they got an arcade too very cute

Prima hotel. Dichtbij tramhalte en binnen 20min in centrum San Diego. Schone kamers en bed was goed.

Cons:

Kamers aan kant van de snelweg zijn erg gehorig. Lijkt bijna alsof je op de snelweg ligt. Zelf met oordoppen in gehorig.

Great location and experience
Pros:

We really enjoyed our stay at the Rambler Motel! The location was perfect—close to everything we wanted to see and do, which made getting around super easy. The property was very clean, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we checked in.

The motel has a really fun, unique vibe that makes it stand out from your typical hotel. It has a lot of character, and we loved the overall atmosphere. It was a great place to come back and relax after a day of exploring.

We had a great experience and would definitely stay here again the next time we're in the area!

Nice quirky motel, but poor breakfast.
Pros:

As far as motels go, this is quite a nice place. It turned out not quite as funky as I imagined from the pictures, but still quite quirky. Old fashioned arcade machines in the lobby were a cool touch. The rooms were sufficient size, basic, but clean. The most disappointing part of the stay was breakfast. It was "take out", and very limited selection. Thankfully, they have a regular coffee shop on the premises, where we were able to get better breakfast.

Book your stay!
Pros:

Do not hesitate to book your stay! We took our 10 year old granddaughter on a trip and loved our stay here. We took the bikes along the nature preserve, swam, enjoyed the coffee shop. The staff was 20 out of 10. Always asking us if they could make our stay better in any way, everyone was friendly and helpful. They even tucked in our granddaughter's stuffy every day.

An unexpected gem as an alternative to a crowded, noisy resort!
Pros:

We had a conference at the Gaylord Resort just down the road. Fortunately for us, it was sold out and we discovered the Rambler!
A Google search of the area around the resort led us to this traveler's gem. Just at a mile away from the resort, it was a quick walk or a handy Uber to get to my sessions.
All public areas were clean, comfortable and welcoming. The pool was clean and well maintained, with a great soundtrack playing all afternoon and evening. The staff was amazing, always greeting us with a smile and eager to help.
Our room was very clean, well maintained, and comfortable, with our own air conditioner and a flatscreen TV. Hot water was plentiful. Although our room was on the rear of the motel with the trolley tracks and the I-5 on the other side of the fence, the noise volume was low and no trouble at all, especially with the AC running at night.
The coffee shop and cafe were a wonder addition. I had the best breakfast burrito there with excellent service. The staff kept a good selection of adult beverages, sodas, and snacks that were available at all hours.
For anyone traveling, especially if you love cars, Americana, and that 60's/70's California vibe, the Rambler Motel is the place for you!
