Fabulous Hotel lovely friendly staff, very clean and comfortable room with all you could need, beautiful food and tasty breakfast and a great location couldn't fault it we cant wait to stay again first class
We had a fabulous stay Food staff room location everything was first class cant wait to stay again
We had our wedding at Clandeboye Lodge mid June 2026 and it was fantastic from start to finish!
Our venue tour was hosted by the amazing Gia. The venue sells itself, but Gia’s knowledge, expertise and effortless enthusiasm is what truly led us to picking Clandeboye Lodge for our wedding.
Throughout the planning process, we were guided by the fantastic Ian and Lorraine who perfected everything for us! Nothing was too much hassle and any requests we had were met with ease.
The day itself was fantastic and ran so smoothly thanks to all of the staff, but especially our amazing MC Bradley.
The ceremony space is spectacular, the gardens are stunning for photographs and the reception spaces are beautiful. The food was also fantastic, and has been a real talking point for our guests!
We cannot thank the team enough for all of their hard work in making our day so special! If you are looking for a first class wedding venue, look no further.
Had our dad's birthday meal here in the new Garden room, everything was excellent. The setting is beautiful, the new landscaping is gorgeous, the staff are super polite and professional and the food was top notch. A really lovely outing all round, highly recommend a visit
The food was good, the breakfast was good as well, especially the local yoghurt. Staff was friendly
The room had no AC and no possibility to open the windows . Also there is a strong smell of manure which was not ideal
The meal at the wedding reception was very good however the downside of the visit was the cooked breakfast the next morning. Sausages could have been cooked a little more, the soda and potato bread did not taste like NI soda or potato bread. Sorry
The cleanliness of the rooms was great and the beds very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
We were there for our daughter’s wedding & the whole day was superb ! Excellent service there when needed but not over bearing, food excellent & a special mention to manager apologies I can’t mind his name was so good!
Excellent service throughout my stay.
The food at breakfast and in The Coq & Bull for dinner was amazing.
The room was modern and very comfortable with exceptional amenities .
The grounds also were very well maintained
Thank you for what was an absolutely outstanding wedding day.
Everything was perfect from the moment we first visited and made our booking, the contact throughout especially the continuity it didn’t matter who you chatted to / emailed they always knew the answer, all the staff from the people who dressed the room, Bradley our MC, the food (oh my goodness the food!) and everyone we encountered throughout the day were simply fantastic.
The collective service and attention of everyone made it truly a day we will never forget.
If you want a truly outstanding wedding experience go to Clandeboye Lodge

Great stay at the Clandeboye Hotel. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was clean and comfortable, and the food was excellent. I stayed for three nights and had a very enjoyable experience throughout. Would definitely recommend and would be happy to stay again.

Before booking our wedding here we sat down with Lorraine and discussed what was available to us. Lorraine had asked about potential dates and we had said about the first week in November 2027, as we got engaged on the 6th November. We were leaning more towards the 8th November as it was cheaper for a weekday wedding. However, Lorraine had said the 7th November (Sunday) is the same price as a weekday wedding, and that we could book out the Garden Room on the 6th November for a private anniversary dinner with some of our guests as well as a farewell breakfast on the 8th November.
We really loved this idea and it became a huge part of us choosing our wedding date and having our wedding at this venue. Not long after paying the deposit, I spoke to the restaurant manger to begin booking the Garden Room on the 6th and 8th November. She told me this was her first time hearing about this and that the Garden Room cannot be booked on a weekend. I emailed the wedding team to inform them of this (thinking it was a simple fix) for them to confirm that the Garden Room cannot be booked on those dates despite Lorraine assuring us this could be done. There was a lot of back and forth, and a very clear lack of accountability from the venues side. Even though we were going to pay thousands to have our wedding at this venue, they stated it wouldn’t be “cost effective” to book that room out to us. Their alternatives were unhelpful and didn’t reflect the idea that was originally sold to us. One option was to book the room out for about an hour, pay a non-refundable £400 booking fee, and pay for all the meals on one card. This was completely different to what Lorraine had presented us with.
I moved on from this as there was no resolution and I didn’t want this to affect our relationship with our venue. I spoke to Mia in March to confirm things in the contract regarding confetti and food. She confirmed indoor confetti was allowed and that we could provide our own food, as well as organise external catering. I then spent weeks researching pizza trucks for our late night food, and emailed the wedding team our plans. I was told that only the hotel provides all food/drink.
At this stage, I was deeply frustrated that this was the second time I was assured I could do something, and then, after spending so much time and effort organising it, I’m being told I’m not allowed.
My email was ignored, so I called and spoke to Mia who remembered informing me I could arrange for external catering. However, she argued that she didn’t say I could have a pizza truck - this was the problem, there was a lack of communication on their end. I advised Mia she made it very clear I could have external caterers brought it - there was no mention of types of catering I wasn’t allowed, and if there was, it should have been communicated to me in the first instance. I asked Mia what the difference was between us having a pizza truck compared to an ice cream truck - she stated “well how many people do you know that have had vomiting and diarrhoea after eating pizza compared to ice cream?”. This was probably the most bizarre justification for refusing us a specific type of catering.
I genuinely wanted to come to a resolution and work through this, but Mia informed me that she had spoke to the owner who decided that he would give our money back. So instead of working things out, they decided to cancel our wedding and cast us aside, despite them causing the problems a few weeks after we signed a contract.
I’m not one for leaving negative reviews, but my short experience with the Clandeboye has caused me significant stress and heartbreak. We never thought we would encounter such issues when planning for such a special time in our lives. We’re relieved we’ve seen this side of Clandeboye early on, as I couldn’t imagine how bad they would be a year down the line.
Our first time staying here and I hope it will not be the last. A lovely cosy atmosphere in a rural setting. We found the staff to be exceptionally friendly and professional. Our meal was of an equally high standard, as was the wine selection.
The bedroom was also vert well appointed and comfortable.
All in all, a great experience.
I probably wouldn't stay here again for the money. It was expensive for a relatively small and hot room.
However, it was spotlessly clean, the staff were charming and the food good. The location was peaceful, even though I was woken up several times by doors banging in the corridor.
We had a great stay at the Clandeboye Lodge Hotel, the food was exceptional and the room had everything we needed and was very clean & tidy .
The staff were very helpful and pleasant .I would highly recommend..
A lovely relaxed atmosphere. Tastefully decorated and comfortable. The staff are very nice.
