Bed was clean, comfortable at least, and room a decent size, but I'd never come here again

Cons:

Unclean, sticky carpet, bad small, very hot room (no aircon) - this was summer but not a heatwave, pathetic fan, empty soap & tissues, double instead of twin, one lift apparently broken, depressing lobby, desk staff who couldn't coherently explain parking arrangements

Cons:

The hotel was murder to find as on the outside of the building it was not called the metropolitan it was sign written as the best western . The rooms also had no air-conditioning and the top floor on the first night was unbearable as it was over 30c. The following day I requested a room lower down which was a lot cooler. The first night we had no sleep as the heat was coming from the roof above us. The staff were very good though finding us a room lower down though.

The carpets were dirty. The bedrooms were very basic and in our first room the bathroom door had what seemed like a punch mark.

Pros:

Lovely staff really helpful and friendly. Stay here often and they welcome us on first name terms that is really nice. My daughter needs medication and will only take it with yoghurt and kitchen staff were more than happy to just put a bit in a bowl and a spoon. The room is welcoming.

Cons:

A lot of rooms could do with a deep clean. Little things like Remote control battery running low so takes ages for tv to work. On last visit I did have a problem with the cleanliness but the lovely member of staff soon sorted this out and moved us to another room. Lack of lights in general and often bulbs are broke. And occasionally the rooms arnt cleaned up to standard. But overall its a budget hotel and for what I pay its a good hotel. And will keep on returning. For the price the good things about this hotel over weigh the bad. The staff are wonderful.

Uncomfortably hot

Cons:

Without Aircon the windows need to open more than an inch. Unbearably hot to sleep in. Badly need renovation. Booked as a Best Western but change brand after booking and well below standard.

Worst night ever due to heat
Pros:

staff were friendly and kind

Cons:

Room on top floor was 32 degrees. No air con. Very close air, swelteringly hot. Towels and bed sheets are hot to the touch. Mini fridge not working. Asked to swap rooms but allegedly the hotel full. Hotel noticeably cooler from floor 5 downwards. Other guests on higher floors were equally unhappy. If not for oppressive heat on higher floors, this would be a good value budget hotel
