The room curtain kept falling off room 123 twice it was sorted but still dropped off
Table was very bustie not cleaned for a while.
The location was really central in Alnwick.
Had to change room the first day as the mattress you could feel every spring, was really this and it needed a new one fitted in the room.
Tv was also dated and tiny .
Nice that we could take our dog to breakfast in the bar as an alternative to the dining room. Great location and free parking.
La salle du petit déjeuner et sa situation
La lumière trop crue et trop forte dans la chambre et la salle de bains
Great location excellent staff
Breakfast excellent staff ,very helpful
Bar attached to hotel couldn’t do food when restaurant was busy , chef told barman not to take food orders . Should either have another chef or not advertise they are doing food in bar . To reach our room we had to go outside of the hotel which is okay if it isn’t raining , room could do with updating and a noise from water pipes running through all the time.
Loved the location
Lots of stairs especially for old people
The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was modest but comfortable
Central location, easy access to amenities and surrounding area.
Other than the main reception/bar and dining room the hotel needs a general facelift/decoration in the rooms, rooms should have some drawers added for storage of smaller items etc.
View of the castle
Room very tired.
Dripping shower.
Mattress uncomfortable.
Toast was basically bread that had looked at the toaster.
Breakfast great, location great.
The furniture in the bedroom was dated and cheap. Bath/shower had a cheap flimsy shower curtain.
Excellent proximity to town, easy parking.
Room was very comfortable and the olympic dining room was stunning
Everything about the White Swam was superb, from the minute we walked it was perfect, a special word of thanks to the receptionist who was excellent unfortunately didn’t get her name but remembered she is from Australia. Check in was straightforward, and she gave us of information about the area and places to visit
Our room was excellent very clean, beds comfortable.
The breakfast was again excellent, loads to choose from.
Would definitely recommend the hotel to family and friends
Nothing
It is such an interesting hotel with the amazing panelled dining room and beautiful glazing.
Good choice at breakfast. Helpful staff.
Some parts of the hotel could do with a little tlc.
In our room for example the bathroom window was untidy with smears of paint. A small thing I know but it felt like it was uncared for. Attention to these small details can make a difference to the overall impression of a place.
Convenient for where we were going
We arrived hoping to get into the room at 2pm to change ready for a garden party we were attending at 2.30The parking situation caused great problems! As it was Saturday we couldn’t find any parking places in town. 🤷♀️We ended up sitting double parked in the car park for one and a half hours till 2 o’clock when we could finally get our key! The lady on Reception wasn’t helpful and simply said come back at 2pm. I can imagine Reception gets a lot of grief about parking.
We also had noisy drunken people staying in a nearby room which prevented us from sleeping until they finally decided to go to bed.
Location, history, comfortable & clean
No lift to upper floors. Street noise from our bedroom.
THE STAFF WERE BRILLIANT , NOTHING WAS TO MUCH TROUBLE
