As Janelas Verdes Inn - Lisbon Heritage Collection - Riverside

Our 4 night stay at the As Janelas Verdes boutique was delightful. This is a charming hotel, offering several comfortable seating areas downstairs, as well as an upstairs library and rooftop terrace overlooking the Tagus River. Breakfast was served in the lovely outside terrace adjacent to a water fountain. The meal on offer is extremely generous by American standards, although more in line with most European hotels and included a wide variety of baked goods, breads, cold cuts, cheeses, fresh fruit, hot entrees that included scrambled eggs, a ratatouille type of cooked veggie, baked beans, bacon, sausages and broiled tomatoes. Beverages included an automated machine that dispensed a variety of espresso drinks, and there was also hot water for tea, warm milk, hot coffee and an assortment of juices. A variety of beverages and snacks are also available any time during the day and there is an honor bar where you can bartend your own mixed drink or purchase beer and wine. We booked a Junior Suite room which was spacious, quiet and decorated in a traditional style. The bed was very comfortable. Bathrobes and slippers are provided. We liked the decor of the bathroom and the shower/tub provided good water pressure, plenty of hot water, nice towels and wonderful smelling bath products. Recommend you request a Junior Suite on a higher floor (2 or 3) to get a good view of the Tagus. The A/C worked efficiently, which we appreciated given the hotter than usual late May temperatures. The location is a bit further out but still quite accessible to the main old town square with about a 15 minute walk. The staff is wonderful!

Das Hotel war ausgesprochen gemütlich, hätte Lissabon nicht so viel zu bieten, hätte man den ganzen Tag dort verbringen können. Überall war freier Kaffee und Törtchen erhältlich. Die Zimmer waren groß und schön eingerichtet. Sehr schön war auch die Terrasse im oberen Stockwerk, von der man einen herrlichen Blick auf den Tejo hatte. Der Innenhof zum Frühstücken war sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und das Frühstück ließ keine Wünsche offen. Wir haben uns äußerst wohl gefühlt und würden jederzeit wieder bei Ihnen übernachten.

It’s a charming little hotel in a quiet area of Lisbon, lovely antique style hotel that you can spend time and relax any day. We came here for the first time 13 years ago and will com again.

My wife and I stayed at As Janelas Verdes last week and were both pleasantly surprised at just how relaxing the Hotel is, the hotel has some lovely design features, topped off with a beautiful third floor Library with a selection of books papers, chess board, with patio doors onto a terrace that had a wonderful vista of Lisbon harbour ,complete with comfortable loungers, you can help yourself to hot beverages in the library, and adjoining kitchen has an honesty bar/ fridge, and nibbles.
Our room was very comfortable, excellent bathroom/shower, nice and quiet, large comfortable bed.
Breakfast was a highlight good selection, beverages, juices , hot and cold buffet, pastries.
Every member of staff we came in contact with showed us respect and kindness, with reception being very reliable with restaurant suggestions and airport transfers.
The hotel was spotlessly clean throughout. We will certainly return thank you Janelas Verdes. david

excellent buffet breakfast, very relaxed, good selection food and beverages, 3rd floor Library with balcony overlooking the harbour, complete with refridgerated honesty bar and hot beverages, nibbles etc, very relaxing, good selection of books and chess board, reliable early morning call for return journey to airport, taxi ordered by reception and at the front door bang on time.

Room really not as nice as in the hotel pictures, not good smell in the room, very noisy the side of the street, very bad smell in the closet, bed is really too small.

Lovely staff, characterfull hotel with great ambience in perfect location

It was like traveling by back in time to the most beautiful, boutique hotel experience. The bed was so comfy, building was historic, but meticulously maintained, & staff was so kind and warm. Would go back to Portugal just to experience this hotel again!!

It's such a pleasure to stay in a comfortable and tastefully decorated, traditional hotel. A modern, beige hotel is not for us. Janeles Verde offers luxurious surroundings, excellent linens, gorgeous breakfasts and always kind service. Thank you!

For this price breakfeast was good, nice to seat outside in the court.
