Excellent breakfast, the Tera’s on top and the garden at the Boten
The staff were brilliant, so friendly and helpful beyond belief. Loved the honesty bar upstairs and downstairs and the breakfast in the gorgeous courtyard was a delight
Cant think of anything
Zeer verzorgd klein en gezellig hotel met heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel
excellent room. Breakfast in courtyard outstanding. Free snacks and port wine.
Classic and subtly beautiful and cozy. Spacious, impeccable rooms and bathrooms. No gimmicky design and lame attempts at being fashionable. Beautiful wood finishes. Great balcony views of river.
Cosy, very friendly staff, close to lively neighbourhood; excellent breakfast
Rather expensive
Sehr freundliches, aufmerksames Personal, top Lage, schöne saubere Zimmer und tolles Frühstück im Garten.
.
Beautiful historical building with very intricate interior, friendly and helpful staff, delicious breakfast. Downside of our stay there was that the street is very noisy, air and smell from the port nearby is disturbing. And the huge building of the museum right next to the hotel is under renovation which adds up to a noise and dust. But still we had a unique experience and would recommend the place.
Service og indretning
This is an absolute gem. The decor and upkeep of the hotel are second to none and the staff are discreet but extremely attentive. The situation is ideal with the hotel set on the old cobbled route into the city and a 25 minute walk from the praca de commercio. The breakfasts are outstanding and the constantly available tea, coffee, port and cakes are of a high quality. Infact absolutely everything is of a high quality. One of the best hotel stays we have ever had, without a shadow of a doubt.

Everything was exceptional: Dining on the patio, view from the room, a spacious bathroom, comfortable bed and linens, and great service.
Our 4 night stay at the As Janelas Verdes boutique was delightful. This is a charming hotel, offering several comfortable seating areas downstairs, as well as an upstairs library and rooftop terrace overlooking the Tagus River. Breakfast was served in the lovely outside terrace adjacent to a water fountain. The meal on offer is extremely generous by American standards, although more in line with most European hotels and included a wide variety of baked goods, breads, cold cuts, cheeses, fresh fruit, hot entrees that included scrambled eggs, a ratatouille type of cooked veggie, baked beans, bacon, sausages and broiled tomatoes. Beverages included an automated machine that dispensed a variety of espresso drinks, and there was also hot water for tea, warm milk, hot coffee and an assortment of juices. A variety of beverages and snacks are also available any time during the day and there is an honor bar where you can bartend your own mixed drink or purchase beer and wine. We booked a Junior Suite room which was spacious, quiet and decorated in a traditional style. The bed was very comfortable. Bathrobes and slippers are provided. We liked the decor of the bathroom and the shower/tub provided good water pressure, plenty of hot water, nice towels and wonderful smelling bath products. Recommend you request a Junior Suite on a higher floor (2 or 3) to get a good view of the Tagus. The A/C worked efficiently, which we appreciated given the hotter than usual late May temperatures. The location is a bit further out but still quite accessible to the main old town square with about a 15 minute walk. The staff is wonderful!
Can't think of anything we would like to see changed, although finding a table during peak breakfast dining times may require a short wait (breakfast is offered from 7:30am - 12PM and most folks seemed to arrive between 9-10AM).
