Feel very disappointed
Pros:

Staff service was very bad and reception lied when we asked about the additional mandatory $35 charge for access to use the chairs and some bodyboards for the beach which we didn’t even ask for.

Breakfast was genuinely the worst breakfast I’ve ever had. Paper plates and cutlery, just some potatoes and some circular dry sausages for a cooked breakfast aswell as some cheesestrings besides a few other things.

Room was very nice and renovated in all fairness besides the awful smell of birds which are everywhere around the resort, but I guess that’s the sea for you! Location and view was great though but wouldn’t recommend.

Family approved or large group
Pros:

The 2 bedroom Rooms were great! Sleeps 6-7 comfortably. Resort has 2 pools, top deck has ping pong, pickle ball, fire pits to relax while kids have fun exploring the outside games. Breakfast was included and delish !
View was magnificent and you have the beach private but it is a steep long walk. Take a bike ride with e-bikes or pedal yourself. Hotel has kites, Beach chairs for free. We will return

SoCal beach feel but quiet and peaceful
Pros:

Clean and cute rooms, nice extras like binoculars for whale watching, boogie boards and beach umbrella to borrow for free, fire pits and corn hole, free breakfast every morning. You do NOT want room 107! Pricey, but a nice place to stay.

Waste of money
Pros:

It was clean

Cons:

The location, the construction, the false advertising of pictures on their website, I paid for a suite at the sister hotel but was put in the one next door with the kids playground instead of what I paid for

PROPER CLEANING PLEASE
Pros:

Room was clean EXCEPT that I have a very keen eye and upon my inspection I noticed that the toilet bowl had not been properly cleaned…yuk.
A little more attention to cleaning detail please; this made me question the cleanliness of the room

Overall Pleasant Stay - Good for Families
Pros:

Great hotel for families. It’s a bit confusing because it’s two distinct hotels that are merged under this new title of Pacific Point. We stayed at the Lighthouse Suites side of the resort. Rooms are impeccably decorated - like something out of a magazine. Mix of mid century modern and beach vibes. We had a very enjoyable stay and really liked the privacy of having our kid stay in her own separate room.

That being said, there are a few reasons why I didn’t give 5 stars:
1. A bit deceptive pictures - there is no play structure, which was the main attractor for us to stay here. It’s now some sort of pickleball court and gathering tables, much better for kids 8+ rather than smaller kids. Even when you turn on the TV, and see the default resort channel it greatly features the non-existent play structure.
2. Showers were incredibly difficult to figure out. We left having never figured out how to get the handhelds to work properly.
3. Pool seems very small for a resort of this size, especially as it’s shared between two merged hotels.
4. For a resort, I might expect a bit more in the room such as robes, shower caps, etc. I’m not sure what hotels have against shower caps these days, many of us don’t wash our hair every day so it seems odd to not have them with the other little toiletries.

But overall this is a very nice hotel that is an excellent stay for families.

They have ruined a classic hotel
Pros:

For over 20 years, my family and I have stayed at this hotel. I cannot tell you how disappointed we are with what they have done to it. The rooms have been redecorated. but the building itself is pretty much the same they got rid of little touches like bathrobes and tacked on a resort fee of $35. unbelievably they now charge $15 per night for parking. when we tried to access our rooms, the elevator was out of order so we had to drag our suitcases up to the top floor, when we went to the adjoining hotel for a glass of wine, from the “Wine Wall ”which was so prominently featured it was out of order. Shower handles were difficult to operate, my wife had a scalding shower in the master suite. The other shower did not drain, so our daughter was showering in standing water. Trash bins at every level by elevators were full & overflowing the entire time we were there, sad to see that kind of a mess in a place that used to be so charming & well kept, for a property that's not fully functional they think it's OK to charge $350 per night + taxes and fees. As the negative reviews pile up, maybe management will wake up.
