Better options for price
Pros:

Stayed here last year when it was still the Pismo Lighthouse and it was excellent, great staff, great rooms, and that cliffside view is hard to beat. Came back this year and found out the property changed hands and merged with the hotel next door into “Pacific Point Resort.” Mixed bag.

The room itself is genuinely nice. Renovations are quality, not the cheap kind. Two issues though: the in-room safe wasn’t installed correctly so it doesn’t work, and the AC is weak and seems to shut off at night, like there’s a motion sensor killing it when you’re asleep. Annoying, but not a dealbreaker.

The real problem was the front desk. The agent who checked us in both times had dark hair and tattoos on her fingers, in case management wants to know who I’m referring to. At check-in she barely acknowledged us, no greeting, just “last name?” while typing, then silence. She told us our room was at the second building next door but couldn’t explain how to get there without me asking a bunch of follow-up questions. Turns out you have to exit the property and walk through their parking lot to get to it. If they’re not going to physically connect the two buildings, they at least need to explain it clearly at check-in, because otherwise you’ll keep getting reviews like this one.

My wife asked a housekeeper for one extra towel since we only had three for a family of four. The housekeeper flatly said no. My wife laughed thinking she was joking, she wasn’t. When my wife explained we had two kids and needed one more, the housekeeper said “they don’t give us many,” like that was our problem to solve. She did eventually hand one over.

Second night, I went to ask about extending our stay and got the same dark haired agent again, same routine, no eye contact, “last name?”, then “I don’t have your reservation,” even though I was already checked in. When I asked to add a night, she immediately said they were fully booked. I checked Expedia right there and saw four rooms available, then checked the hotel’s own site and it let me book directly. So she just didn’t want to deal with converting an Expedia booking into a direct one. I’ve worked in hospitality management so I know that’s extra work for front desk staff, but that’s not a guest’s problem either. At that point I was so fed up with her attitude that I decided I’d rather pack up and move to another hotel for the last night than give this property another dollar.

On our last night we also found ants in the room. Didn’t bother reporting it, honestly. At that point I’d rather deal with ants than risk running into that same agent again and having her ruin what was left of the stay.

Nobody told us breakfast times or location, or really anything about the property, at check-in.

This is a $500 a night hotel with a jaw dropping view and beautifully renovated rooms, undercut by front desk service that feels like an afterthought. Whoever bought this property spent real money on the rooms, they need to spend some on training the people guests actually interact with, because that’s what people will remember. We won’t be back, which is a shame, since the location itself is great. We’ll just book one of the hotels down the road next time.

hoping our next stay will be better
Pros:

The hotel has potential of being a great hotel with good location and possibility of good offerings. The view was nice of the pier but not as was described/advertised. The grounds were very nice and having a family pool was a plus with nice firepit elements however not all were operational. Hopeful this property can fulfill its potential.

Cons:

The breakfast was suitable but they had trouble with the morning rush running out of coffee two mornings and plates,
The hotel was in the middle of rehabilitation so they were compromised. we went into a room that had a broken lamp sitting in the room, we saw a pile of them in the parking lot I guess ours was not removed. And we had no microwave at check in.
The online brochure had pictures of a very nice lobby but due to the construction it was crammed in and relocated to a hallway next to an elevator.
It was advertised as having an exercise room which was closed due to construction although it did not appear to have any work being done in it.
The staff attempted to try and improve the situation, some better than others and when informed the manager was empathetic and tried to better the situation by making post visit adjustments.

Great location, but for the price of the stay the little things that were not great should be better.
Pros:

Great location. Newly remodeled.

Cons:

The breakfast was very crowded because the property beside theirs also ate breakfast there. They charge for parking. They advertise cookies on checkin and did not have 2 days in a row.

Pros:

THE VIEWS ARE AWESOME. THE REMODELED ROOMS WERE VERY CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE.

Cons:

THE CHAIRS ON THE BALCONIES WERE VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. ONLY OTHER THING THAT REALLY BOTHERED ME WAS THE BIRD POOP, IT IS LITERALLY EVERYWHERE. I UNDERSTAND THAT THE PLACE CAN'T DO TO MUCH ABOUT THAT.

LOVE the LOCATION!
Pros:

I really appreciated the awesome staff who worked hard to make our stay really wonderful. Johnny helped us get checked in, helped us get our rooms and helped us with where everything was on the grounds. He was super respectful, polite and friendly. We loved our room, the view, the beautiful grounds, the lovely pool and spa, and the location is unbeatable. We would happily come back to this hotel again, especially when their renovations are complete.

Cons:

We didn't know to expect that part of the hotel, the main building, was being renovated until we arrived. However, the staff was super accommodating, the price was very fair, and we had a GREAT stay!

Cons:

When booking, nothing mentioned about two different facilities hotel has which are not exactly the same or connected. Our room happened to be in the other facility.
Pictures on booking do not reflect or indicate the full setting.

It was gorgeous and the staff were friendly kind and attentive. The hotel is well maintained and the restaurant next to
Pros:

The View was stunning and the rooms were exceptionally clean and nice. The property was very pretty and well maintained.

Cons:

There were quite a few native birds which is to be expected at the ocean. It didn’t detract from the visit but just to expect they will be there.

still great but short...looks like they have gone a long way to improve the property which is good.
Pros:

great view! very comfortable room, good breakfast, very warm and friendly staff. Even though the housekeepers and maintenance crew hardly speaks any English I know they exerted effort helping. They would gain confidence with the language if they could practice speaking it more.

Cons:

I found a dirty wash cloth inside the drawer by the side table and an empty plastic pelegrino by the trash bin. Not sure how it ended there without housekeeping noticing it. The property had an expansion and we landed on the other property. Unfortunately when we got into the property there is no signage that the gift shop doubles as a front desk. There was no one when we got there. Waited for a few minutes... went outside to look for help. The staff apparently speaks very little English but tried to help and re directed me back to the gift shop. Turned out the staff had to use the restroom. She did put a signage on a post it which i did not see right away saying "Ill be back". Missing TV remote... have to call them .

Pros:

Nice but post accurate photos of the hotel site
Pros:

The pictures that are posted are misleading. It does not look like the pictures and that was very disappointing. I don’t know if they posted what the lobby will look like in the future because they were under construction and merging with a neighboring hotel.

Cons:

That the pictures posted on their site are misleading but we did like our hotel room.
