Location room and view
Heating was not working but I was given a heater. Breakfast selection could be improved. Fruit not very exciting. No yogurts
Clean and comfortable. A ggo d place to stay especially if you're visiting the zoo.
I’m satisfied 😊
10 minute wait to check in. Low levels of staff who are trying to do too much - hire more people
Friendly staff but rooms very dated and in need of some TLC
Rooms dated and in need of some TLC
Breakfast was ediable but a shame the fruit wasnt fresh and not battered and bruised and poor quality meat for cooked brekfast sadly.
Room nice, comfortable bed but 2 pillows each rather than 1 would be nice. Not a great deal of choice at breakfast (eg no yogurts) and as we had our dog, couldn't go in the restaurant. We were happy to eat in the bar area but the tables are too low to eat from and ended up having plate on knees.
As above, too low tables in bar area to eat a meal from.
The location close to wedding venue
Before I let rip I should start by saying I was made aware there was work being done on the "leisure facilities, including the swimming pool."
However, when we arrived at the hotel it became clear there was much more to it than that. There were work men all over the place, including along the corridor where our room was, crashing and banging and taking things out of rooms presumably to throw in to the skip that was plonked on the woodland grounds we were promised on the website. We had to maneuver ourselves around them to get to our room. There was no mention of this to us on check in and no acknowledgement of any inconvenience.
These workmen (and hotel guests) were using the entrance of the hotel as a smoking area, so every time I wanted to go in or out of the hotel I had to fight my way through a fog of smoke.
When we got to our room there were only 2 bath towels for 4 people, no tv remote, no mattress protector on bottom bunk - the mattress was old and dirty. Only one pillow each. We were only allowed one room key between 2 adults who would be in separate places and needing to access the room at different times.
Upon asking for the missing items the staff member rolled her eyes at my mum. We received some of what we'd asked for but we had to ask her again for the tv remote, and a friend of my mum who was sitting in the lounge overheard her complaining about my mum. During that first evening I witnessed the same female staff member flirting with multiple male guests and the workmen.
On the second night, at about 3am the fire alarm went off repeatedly. When I came to reception I wasn't greeted by a reassuring member of staff, but a girl (I'm assuming receptionist) heading out the door on the phone to someone saying "the f**king fire alarm is going off".
Excellent place to stay. Always good.
Stairs.
De liggen van het hotel was mooi en de kamer was groot. Vriendelijk personeel.
Het ontbijt was matig helaas.
Breakfast was adequate, but nothing special for the money. We were staying for my brother's wedding, and had travelled from Leicester. He was getting married just down the road at East Horton golf club so it was conveniently located. We were offered a free drink at the bar for the inconvenience of the lighting issue upon arrival.
The room was dusty, and generally not 100% clean. The decor of the room and the hotel generally felt dated. The lights in the room weren't working when we arrived, though this was resolved after talking to reception and we were offered free drinks. There were only enough towels for 2 people in a 4 person family room so we had to ask for more which were delivered after a bit of a delay. Food and drinks from the bar were very expensive. We had a fire alarm go off in the middle of the night on Saturday at about 3am, seemingly caused by room 117 which woke the whole hotel up. We never had an explanation, but I assume someone was smoking in that room as after about 5-10 minutes the alarm stopped. It wasn't handled that well, and seemed to be left to other guests to deal with the situation. It was very confusing and left us all with disturbed sleep, and no idea if the situation was dealt with or not. I felt sorry for the hotel staff, it seemed like they were short on staff the whole of our stay. The swimming pool wasn't available during our stay which was disappointing. I thought generally the hotel was nowhere near good enough to justify the price we paid.
Clean tidy , good staff
Cheap uncomfortable bed, shame because the rest was good
The property is in a very lovely location
The property looks very tired and is in need of a refit
