Hotel reception and lounges are gorgeous, lovely to sit in, amazing views. Breakfast was fair, nothing special. Dinner in Grill was very good, staff were excellent, and the food was delicious
The room, a standard, was at the back of the main building, and it was completely airless despite the windows being fully open, and the air conditioner was not working. The fan supplied in the room did little to relieve the discomfort. The shower barely dribbled. The room was really poor.
Facilities and style
The bathroom was tired and not up to spec of rest of hotel
Good staff. Good food
Room outdated
Loved my room
No phone signal
I have been here previously for my anniversary a few years back - I came back for a massage at the champneys and stayed over night this time round for it - with the heat I’d expected there to have been Air conditioning but there was a fan inside the room which was blowing hot air and it was quite uncomfortable and warm through the night. Also asked staff for a toothbrush as my niece had forgotten hers at home. They said they couldn’t find any, but would drop it off outside the room once they found one. They did not and we only stayed for the one night. It took hours for us to get someone on the phone to reception for some water also, phone was either engaged or no answer. Other than that I’d say it was a lovely hotel with great scenic views and a mansion feel to it, plenty of walking space outside and even a lake to sit beside ducks and a water fountain which was quite relaxing - with a very lovely atmosphere and staff were generally quite approachable and smiley. Breakfast was a buffet with plenty a selection including fruits and continental items as well as veggie options. The massage was very nice and relaxing by Georgia. Overall had a satisfied stay.
Amenities (toothbrush) no air conditioning felt stuffy and warm and affected sleep though a fan was provided it was very humid inside.
Good location
Paid for a suite. Was essentially a large room with a sofa in it so not a suite. It was for our wedding night which we informed at booking. Receptionist had no idea. Not even a congratulations note or anything in the room to slightly acknowledge it which I don’t think is great customer service.
Paint on the walls around the window was stained.
Drunk people running up and down the corridors and even knocking on our door at one point!
The pub style bar “barneys” was great. Good food etc
Wedding party that had fireworks at 10pm only 10 mins after I had fallen asleep after 30 hours without sleep.
The staff should have warned me that this was going to happen at check in.
The room temperature was ridiculously hot we was struggling to breathe there was no air conditioning and for the price we paid I would rather have stayed at home
The Hotel staff were fantastic in every department.
Beautiful imacculate surrounding grounds.
Comfy room with lovely periodic furnishing and decor.
And you won't find a better Breakfast anywhere .
The only blemish In my opinion was the price.(which included a discount too) for the
Terrace Double room with patio access for 1 night at £326 inc VAT.as comfy and lovely as it is and looks was a little disappointing for what I'd expected with the price.
We got married here, so we love the place in general
Can't say there was anything
The staff were amazing, the grounds were beautiful and the spa facilities really good, breakfast was perfect.
Rooms were a little dated, no usb sockets.
Grounds were beautiful and The Granary restaurant .
I booked a ground floor terrace room because of mobility issues. Staff very dismissive .I was given 455 on top floor and was told day staff had changed it and I had been upgraded. The room was tired I was tired of walking up flights of stairs getting lost in the multiple corridors. Im sure if they had any common sense that if you book a ground floor room its for a reason. Also i heard multiple times you booked it through booking .com so if you want to make amendments to your stay they cannot do this.
The views of the hall were good
Slow check in process the staff also couldn't find my booking and tried saying i cancelled it .
