Another outstanding stay at this luxury hotel ideally situated close to lots of trails and exploring in the state park. The food and service was excellent. The pool area is great and easy to grab a bite to eat and a drink right there.
I stayed with my family at the Lodge during April for our spring break trip to San Diego. I had previously lived in La Jolla for graduate school many years earlier, so it was fun to return to the area. We really enjoyed our stay at the Lodge. The room was very spacious, comfortable, and well taken care of. We overlooked a really lovely peaceful courtyard with lots of local vegetation and had a small balcony where we could sit and enjoy morning coffee or just relax. The Lodge itself is very pretty, great craftsman style architecture throughout, very aesthetically pleasing.
We also made good use of the Lodge’s other facilities, including lots of time at the pool and hot tub and several very good meals at the restaurant. It was lovely to sit at the restaurant overlooking the golf course and ocean, and get to see the paragliders drifting by. The views from the hotel over the ocean and at sunset are really beautiful. I also took a walk into the top part of Torrey Pines Nature Reserve, which was about a 10 min walk from the hotel.
We had a great stay and I would love to return and stay at the Lodge again!
Seems that the "friendliness" of the resort has diminished. We have been going for a number of years, and it seems this year that they have gotten a bit more "snippy" on the phone and really not interested in assisting with tee times. When I called this time, I also seemed to hear, when being put on hold in the queue some other name, as if the resort is now managed by a third party, so not sure if its now been sold and they are becoming more "corporate."
It’s beautiful
I have stayed at the hotel numerous times, I have held events there, and I have always enjoyed it. This time I booked a room through Booking.com and got a cheap, old room. It was clear that this was intentional. Of course I paid full price. When I asked at the front desk, I was told that because I booked through Booking.com and not directly, I was being penalized with a cheap room. This is my last time there. Shame on them.
The food
Everything but the food
Just stayed at Lodge and booked a $900 per night room plus amenities fee, plus parking fee, plus taxes. My first stay here, expected good quality, considering this price.
Unfortunately room is very dated with incredibly dirty old carpets everywhere, that was simply revolting
You laying in your bed and foul odor coming from carpets, just terrible. Room 105
I had a patio door coming out directly to the golf course, that door doesn't even lock, anyone can come in out anytime in you room.
And last night hotel staff brought in a large Uhall box track, parked it directly in front of my patio and were slowly loading/unloading some equipment from 9:30pm through 12pm , banging metal to metal, screaming, yelling. I mean 15 feet from my bed, until midnight.
Initially checking in we had a front desk person in training, and she did mention that fact. And that's fine, however she couldn't even explain how to get to our room from the lobby, and it would've been fine, but this hotel is a bit of a maze with multiple levels and wings. And there were nobody there to explain properly, so we figure it out on our own, but that was unpleasant.
Hubicacion
Nichts
The view
The guys out front welcoming you wearing their kilts
The restaurant was 10 minutes walk from the room
Front desk staff were arrogant and unhelpful
This is a golf club trying to offer a hotel service, but it is basically just a golf club for middle aged white men.
We had such a wonderful experience at The Grill at Torrey Pines, and a huge part of that was thanks to our incredible server, Joshua. His service was truly impeccable—thoughtful, attentive, and refreshingly honest about every dish on the menu. He guided us so well that we ended up loving every single thing we ordered.
What really stood out was how effortlessly he anticipated our needs and went above and beyond at every turn. His knowledge of both the food and drinks was exceptional, and his recommendations were consistently spot-on. Every detail felt intentional, and his level of care made the entire evening feel seamless and elevated.
Joshua made our dining experience genuinely memorable. We left feeling so well taken care of, and we’ll absolutely be back. Thank you for such an outstanding evening!
Lots to do, everyone goes above and beyond service, comfortable beds, and accommodations for everyone. The spa was amazing.
I was not made aware of having to pay for parking during booking. I was grateful they waived my parking fees for celebrating special occasion that weekend.
Location to Torrey Pines golf course couldn’t be any closure, great place to relax and take scenic walks.
Nothing really comes to mind.
I have stayed at The Lodge at Torrey Pines a number of times for business, but this time my wife and I decided to stay here as our original plans for vacation in Mexico had to be diverted. I have always had a great experience here, but I will say this last time has left an impression on both me and my wife. The bar adjacent to the AR Valentine restaurant has the best team out of any luxury hotel or resort I have ever lodged at. Savanah took care of us each night we went in for drinks and small bites and she was absolutely amazing. She was very personable, a joy to talk to, gave great recommendations on both the menu and places to visit while in San Diego. She made the entire stay such a delight for us. The rest of the bar team was just as hospitable, we truly cannot wait to come back to visit again soon. Thank you so much
On a business trip (4 nights). Suite was luxurious (rm 521/523) with comfortable king bed,2 baths, sofa, dining table, fireplaces in each room and a balcony with unmatchable view (see photos). Service and cleanliness and responsiveness were white glove including in-room dining service & one minor maintenance need. Outstanding Coffee bar for early risers behind Lobby (Floor 2 ). 2 restaurants - both walkable from room - one casual great for breakfast or lunch, one upscale for a special delicious evening meal. In between, you can sit down in lounge area of AJ's and order off a scaleddown menu. Walk to golf and hiking . Great pool lounge area. Access to spa daily with room key (sauna, aromatherapy room, napping room with fireplace, lockers, showers) and workout room ... get there before the other avids as it is a bit close) but always accessible and clean. Bar is well tended, a celebration, and can be loud so don't book those tables for an intimate dinner at AJs. Only note on our room: if you are looking for quiet, I would suggest overlooking the central courtyard rather than the golf - there are often events hosted on the green overlooking the course - didn't bother me but definitely more lively.
Hermoso lugar ,bien cuidado ,vegetación, cancha de golf
Caro para lo q ofrece ,sobre todo sino jugas al golf
Excellent in every way. Craftsman style large rooms. Well kept inside and out. Top notch staff and food. The Grill restaurant is excellent. Self parking is $55.00 and very easy.
Stunning setting, architecture, views. Very comfortable rooms.
Pricey pre fixe dinner wasn’t that great
