I didn’t have breakfast as I left each morning before it was served. But food at the hotel is excellent. It is such a lovely place. Wonderful atmosphere.

Location good for what we needed. Comfortable rooms, everything you need in room. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Breakfast service was very slow. We only had toast and yogurt/fruit and it took 30 minutes to arrive. There was no one else in restaurant. When it did arrive the toast was barely toasted and had to be returned.
Continental breakfast menu is very limited - toast and yogurt/berries. No cereal or pastries.
Staff are excellent, friendly and really helpful. rooms arelovely, beds comfortable and the location was great for what we needed
nothing really. the only one thing i'd mention, is we'd have loved to have a breakfast, the next day but the breakfast didn't start until 9.00am, this is really late for a hotel (usually you'd have breakfast from 7 - 10am or something similar)

Great location near to Hertford
My office is based in Welwyn Garden City and often stay in one of the main chains there. The prices were high on this occasion so looked elsewhere, i am so pleased.
My decision was based on location ( less than 10 mins from the center of Welwyn Garden City ) and price.
The White Horse was easy to find with free parking, i was greeted with a friendly and smiling welcome by the bar team who also check me in quickly and efficiently, explaining clearly all the info i might need, room location, meals, breakfast etc.
I decided to eat straight away, food was table or bar service, i chose bar as it was quiet. Menu had a great choice for all tastes and was fairly priced. Food came quickly, was piping, hot plentiful and very tasty. I have a food background and would recommend
I was in room 3, room and bathroom were very roomy, with lovely, and from what i could see perfect decor. Everything seemed very clean, tools were supper soft, bed very comfortable.
It was warm and i had proper opening windows which i used and there was little or no noise from outside and i was facing the street.
Shower was super hot and nice and power full.
I left before 09:00 so can not comment on breakfast
The site is not 24hr so there is no reception. I was unsure what to do with my key but there is a contact number which was answered in a few seconds a bubble Diane answered to give me guidance.
All in all a great stay i will return 100%
These are not so much did not like more pointers.
As the hotel is not open 24hrs nor does it have any "Vending " facilities out of normal pub hours you might want to pre purchase drinks and snacks for your room before arrival. Whilst the area is beautiful i was not aware of a local shop but i may be wrong, Hertford is about 5 mins away and has plenty of options.
I was on O2 mobile and struggled a little for connection however Wifi was fine everywhere.

The staff were very friendly when we arrived.
As we were going off to sleep at around 11.30pm, there began the most exceptional noises like heavy objects being dropped on hard ground. This continued to for a couple hours. Unbelievably disrespectful to guests sleeping directly above the place where steel barrels of beer ? were obviously being rolled and dropped. We had an awful night. 😖
