We had been given tickets for the 2nd test at Lords as an anniversary present, and wanted somewhere to stay near to the ground. The Holmes Hotel was chosen based on the reviews of others and I'm pleased to say that they didn't let us down. The Holmes Hotel is very clean and had a relaxed atmosphere. The staff are friendly and helpful, from the restaurant staff right through to the cleaning staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was very good (my eggs florentine were perfect).
It's near the centre of London, but given that, the prices were reasonable. Our room didn't have a great view (a brick wall), but as we were only there to sleep, we didn't really notice it that much!
Getting there was easy enough from St Pancras, just three stops down the Circle line.
If we are back in London, we will certainly be return.
You feel very much at home here — a charming hotel with very friendly staff in a wonderful area.
Cozy hotel and ideal location
Friendly staff, we were greeted by Yaroslav who was very welcoming and supportive!
Felt chic and had some nice touches to furnishings and room facilities such as walk-in shower.
Still felt a little tired, especially the slow, cranky lift, the carpets, the darkness of the corridors and lack of bright decor. The wine bar always seemed very lively though didn’t use it myself.
The location is perfect, the food is nice, the room was good enough but our stay was made by the reception staff. They went above and beyond for everything. We stayed for 7 days and feel like we became friends with all of them. Hea, Yaroslav, Jett were amazing, as was their manager Grace who obviously does a fantastic job looking after and Training her team. We wanted a taxi? No problem. Wanted a recommendation? Here's 5! Need directions? We were shown on a map. No matter what we asked they always replied with is there anything else we can do for you? Now that is service - and always with a smile.
We came to London for a special family trip and stayed at Holmes Hotel in Marylebone. I can honestly say it felt like home away from home. The staff were so caring and attentive. I had my little 2 year old boy with me and the team did everything they could to make him feel special. One lovely woman called Mary even gave him a little Holmes Hotel teddy bear which he loved. We had lunch and breakfast in the restaurant and the food and service was outstanding. Our room was also extremely comfortable and well equipped with everything you might need. The whole experience helped to make the trip a perfect family memory.
10/10 stay
The location is fantastic and near the tube. However what made our 5 night stay outstanding was the hospitality and attention to detail. From the lobby area, the bar, and receptionist, the staff are all kind and attentive. The room was well thought out, clean, and had everything we needed.
I have stayed at larger “highly rated” hotels that have missed the mark, so I was pleasantly surprised at the out standing service. I would recommend Holmes to anyone and plan to stay here again!
Lastly we were celebrating my partners 40th birthday and they left a chocolate cake and card for us in the room upon check in! We also received a surprise room upgrade! 10/10
Very nice hotel in the heart of Marylebone. We got absolutely exceptional service on the restaurant from Gabor and his team.
Loved it so much, I would 100% recommend it for both staying in London and especially for the restaurant and bar.
The Case of the Missing Stars
The staff I encountered were very kind, but the management and follow-up are seriously lacking for a hotel that presents itself as four-star.
The room itself feels sparse and unfinished: no dressing mirror or practical place to do your hair and get ready, yet two refrigerators; damaged flooring; an untidy and worn out toilet area; and a glass shard and broken screw left for who knows how long.
This also isn’t just about the concern I raised today. Earlier in my stay I used the hotel’s advertised 24-hour chat and received no response. I then used their formal complaint process and was given a complaint reference number, but again, no one followed up.
The individual staff members can be lovely, but there seems to be a real disconnect between that kindness and how the hotel is actually managed. I’m left wondering whether management understands what guests should reasonably expect from a four-star hotel. My first room did not have a working phone or end tables. This room had 2 fridges, but not much else…I spoke with Areimos eventually , but got nowhere. So… buyer beware… apparently I didn’t complain often enough (!?)
This was our first stay at Holmes Hotel. Location was excellent and easily found when travelling from Euston station. We did not get off to the perfect start - there were a few issues in the room we had been allocated which we promptly reported to reception. An engineer was sent to resolve these but unfortunately the issue with lighting in the bathroom persevered. We were also a little disappointed that the family package we had ordered on booking had not been organised for our arrival. However, Yaroslav did his upmost to resolve our issues and ensure that we had an enjoyable stay. We were moved to an alternative room overlooking Chiltern street on our second night which was very good. Minor criticisms in that the floorboards were very creaky and bathrooms small when compared to other hotels visited in the group. We also expected to see molton brown toiletries as advertised, however the espa products were equally as good.
Breakfast generally of an high standard, although we would have liked to have seen a wider variation of items such as preserves/more fruit/fresh pancakes.
We would consider visiting again in the future and extend our thanks to Yaroslav for his help and kindness.
I had a great stay here. The hotel is in a very convenient and easily accessible location, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The front desk team was always available and helpful, and having room service available late at night was a great plus. They were also very accommodating with our group and made everything easy and seamless throughout our stay. Overall, a very comfortable and convenient experience.
I had a wonderful stay at Holmes Hotel in London. The hotel has a warm, elegant atmosphere, and the location is excellent for exploring the city. The rooms are comfortable, beautifully presented, and provide a relaxing place to unwind after a busy day.
The staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout my stay, which made the experience feel genuinely special. I also enjoyed the stylish surroundings and the overall attention to detail.
A great choice if you’re looking for a comfortable and well located hotel in London. I would happily stay at Holmes Hotel again and would definitely recommend it to others.
Stayed just 1 night but we were treated extremely well! Lovely small hotel and easy access to the tube! Definitely will be returning to this hotel.
My wife and I stayed in one of the suites at Holmes Hotel London to celebrate our anniversary, and we absolutely loved it. The suite was beautiful, comfortable, and made our special occasion even more memorable.
A special thank you to Hea at reception, who was incredibly kind and made us feel very special throughout our stay. Her warm hospitality truly stood out and added a personal touch to our experience.
The room service was also quick and efficient, which we really appreciated. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we couldn't have asked for a better anniversary stay.
We will definitely be back and would highly recommend Holmes Hotel London to anyone looking for a special stay in London.
Location, lobby, staff, cleanliness, responsiveness
This time, the room I got had an awkward design for the shower and toilet in general, previous rooms I had were way better.
