Mooi hotel.
Accommodatie was goed. Hotel voorzieningen waren minder goed en duur.
Location
Coming from The Falstaff Hotel this was terribly anticlimactic. Save for the view, i didnt love this hotel. Staff werent interested in our needs, check in wasnt smooth as we were accused of using the wrong card. Our daughter had accidentally booked two bookings- one with breakfast and one without and when the money was taken for the booking with the one without, they didnt even try to give the breakfast. They just offered to let us cancel one. It was more of a venue hotel with a focus on events rather than a focus on customer service.
Room was very nice, breakfast was Ok but needed to be replenished when asked.
Possibly needs to be modernised in communal areas.
I don't normally write reviews before I've even stayed somewhere, but I genuinely had to after speaking to Ellie today!
I rang to sort out a booking for my family and she honestly couldn't have been more helpful. I had quite a few questions and was having a bit of a moment trying to work out the best option for all of us, and Ellie was just brilliant. Calm, friendly, funny and completely on it. She took the time to explain the different room options, the pool and gym, timings, restaurants, check-in and check-out, breakfast, and basically everything I needed to know. She then went above and beyond to work out the best option for my family and got me a really good deal too.
What really stood out was that nothing felt like too much trouble. She completely got what I was trying to arrange, had a great sense of humour and made what could have been a stressful phone call ridiculously easy. By the end of it I felt completely reassured and genuinely excited about our stay.
If this is the level of service before we've even arrived, (staying Jan 2027 not Aug 2026) I think we've picked the right hotel! Please make sure Ellie gets the recognition she deserves because she is an absolute credit to the team. Thank you so much, Ellie. ❤️
Location is perfect as very close to the beach and a short walk to the high street and canal . The Sunday carvery was exceptional. Very clean throughout with cosy and comfortable rooms. Very beautiful inside and outside with lovely grounds and places to sit.
Drinks are quite expensive but not surprisingly as they are in most luxury hotels.
It was quiet
Lots of flies
The room was large and the bed massive and very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and the staff in the dining area were really helpful, particularly when providing us with vegan options. Thank you. To get a cocktail we had to go to the champagne bar for some reason but once there, Fenton I think his name was, was excellent and our old fashioned delicious.
I would say given the price £284pn that I'd expect better quality products, a separate shower gel, shampoo and a conditioner. Our shower was also pretty weak. The staff member who checked us in could have been more welcoming. We also had to go to the champagne bar for a cocktail rather than the regular bar.
Need a refurbishment to justify the money and the breakfast is shocking no proper coffee and the continental breakfast is a couple of bits of meat and a baby bell in the worlds smallest fridge Id just look for a bnb if you want to stay in Hythe and eat out unless your at one of the half dozen weddings that are well loud till midnight and all you can here is the dj bass lines through the hotel if your a couple dodge this place and spend your money on something decent and complained to management and had no contact whatsoever
Birthday for my partner so got here early to enjoy pool and spa facilities all very good. Had drinks outside in the sunshine before using bar for a nice lunch. Booked a junior suite as a nice Birthday surprise. When we checked in Booked a table in the restaurant for dinner and as a lovely surprise we were upgraded to a lovely larger suite with a upgrade of a free mini bar a very nice touch thank you 😊 Had dinner which was very nice then back to the bar for night time drinks to finish the day. Had a good night sleep in the air conditioned suite then down for a very nice breakfast 😋
We got married in August and decided to stay a few extra days after our wedding to relax. I was blown away by how incredible everything was.
We were getting so many compliments about the food and the venue. In particular, my best man LOVED the mini koftas (he literally wouldn't not stop talking about them) and there were many options for my friends with gluten allergies.
The venue is also so stunning and also had Aircon (great in the running heatwave we've been having)
All of the team was so useful and just incredible. Nothing felt like it was too small or too big. I love how attentive all of the staff were and it was so easy for us to change anything (eg when our nans started to freeze).
The bartenders were so good. So so lovely! I asked a bartender to pour 28 baby Guinnesses (which is a blooming ridiculous request) but they all did it with such smiles and laughter. It really made the night!
We also loved the little touches. The fact that the staff were the first to speak to us after we got married, the alone time in the champagne bar (also drinks already cold for our arrival) and the service before walking down the aisle to calm all of our nerves.
Even when we had SO many leftover doughnuts from our doughnut wall, the chaps at reception were so polite/fun and I really had to persuade them to take it.
Special shout outs to Georgia, Lewis, Mark, Steve, Mika, Callum, Benji, Hollie & Ella and all of the other staff at the Hythe!
Even after the wedding, the service, food and staff were still incredible. I mean the breakfast is hands down the best hotel breakfast that I've ever had and the staff is some of the politest and friendly people out there.
I literally couldn't fault the service at all. If anyone is planning a wedding or a stay, I couldn't recommend the Hythe imperial more.
Convenient for europe tunnel, great staff
Breakfast was very bad
Fenton's Cocktails, especially the paloma
