Location - the hotel is set in glorious everything about the hotel oozes luxury.
Breakfast was exceptional.
Lack of air conditioning.
Fantastic location and very chilled vibe
Lack off staff
The spa facilities were far better than expected, with indoor and outdoor pools and saunas. The changing facilities are small, but my massage was very good. The food was excellent. I love the inclusion of dogs for a full family experience.
Some of the staff seemed to be students and service was slow at times. The room we had was facing the road, which was surpringly busy for a weekend.
We loved everything about this place, from arriving and receiving a warm welcome, to the facilities, the food and drink, and the constant care and attention throughout to make our stay enjoyable!
Thanks to all of the staff, your kindness and professionalism made our stay a special one!

The staff, especially the reception staff were very friendly and welcoming! Manage to get a mini back and shoulders massage as I booked a little late. Was fantastic! Never felt so relax before. The suite was lovely with a fantastic view to look out on while relaxing in the hot tub. Food was cooked to perfection!
I couldn't stay another night due to my own commitments.
Excellent 2 days at the hotel. All the staff were helpful and friendly. They couldn't do enough for us.
Service charge on everything was annoying but to be expected I guess
Everything! Friendly staff, spotless bedroom, lovely pool area, delicious food.
Tissues in bathroom weren’t very soft
Incroyable, confort, équipement, petit déjeuner sur mesure délicieux, accueil …
My wife and I treated ourselves to a two night spa break at Homewood. I'll be honest, the prices made my eyes water but you only live once. That said it was immediately apparent why sometimes you need to splash out if you want the best. From greeting to goodbye everything at Homewood said quality and care.
We were greeted with genuine warmth, although I was a little surprised that there was no offer of assistance with luggage. We didn't need help but the offer would have been a pleasant gesture.
The Mews building was beautifully decorated, with complimentary sweets in jars on entry. We loved the decorative wall light fittings in particular. Our room was also very well appointed, with a very large and extremely comfortable bed, and an excellent ensuite bathroom. The shower was powerful and very simple to operate.
The room's private terrace was very large and faced due east. This was perfect for the early morning sun on the clear Spring days during which we stayed. 5:45am would see me sitting in the private hot tub, admiring the sunrise and being serenaded by a blackbird, perched atop the adjacent conifer hedge.
Our two chihuahua cross dogs loved the room too, and enjoyed the treat biscuits provided. They particularly enjoyed the Earthbound sleeping mat - so much so that they have ordered one online since returning home! They also had their first ever experience of a dog agility course - which they tackled with enthusiasm.
Breakfast was fabulous, as were the staff who manned the restaurant each morning. I'm very much in the Full English camp and every aspect of that was perfect - and I'm a bit fussy about sausages too. Requesting an extra sausage to share with my dogs back in the room was no problem whatsoever.
We dined in the restaurant and I can say that the food we ordered was beautifully prepared and presented.
The mews hot tub room (No.28) was a little small, but then that was perhaps because the bed was so enormous and sumptuous. I'd have rather had the space back that was devoted to the gigantic pop-up TV built into the foot of the bed, but that's a personal thing - I'm not a TV fan.
Maybe warn guests that showering with the bathroom door open might trigger the building's fire alarm.
If you need a strong massage then perhaps be specific. I was a little underwhelmed, although my wife loved hers. A bit of pot luck?
Great premises, very clean, great food and exceptional staff. Can't wait to go back!
It was a lovely old building like staying in a National Trust place.
The Spa could have done with more seating outside with weather proof cushions and more covered areas. It was damp whilst we were there with low cloud but we could have sat on the loungers around the pools had there been cushions on them. Only limited seating inside.
The grounds and location are really nice
It felt a bit run down, and the rooms were way too small, another hotel with a poor layout, toilets by the bed with very little privacy, I absolutely hate hotels that have these layouts, a bathroom should not be close to the bed and if it is, the toilet should be away from the door.
The bed was comfortable, the pillows were shocking, the room was a bit run down.
Hot tub was a nice addition but it wasn’t very warm, also we had outdoor seating but no cushions on the chairs so that wasn’t very good.
Some nice touches like free pick and mix, but in the building we were in there were no cups to put the sweets in.
Also no cups with the water.
Spa was average - really messy on the deck, lots of used towels on loungers, and lots of dirty cups, glasses and food plates lying around (not just the spa area, outside on the terrace, and inside in the lounge area.
The food in the restaurant was good and service very good.
My biggest gripe and it left a bad taste was that upon checkout i was asked to pay for dinner - We paid for it in the restaurant the evening before, which the staff member at the front desk had no idea this had happened, and the requested a bank statement/ proof of payment for the dinner! Which I found very insulting as their system was the problem.
Would I go back probably not. It was overpriced and underwhelming.
