Hotel was a perfect place to stay in Southport, it was our first ever visit and not our last
The hotel has a old fashioned feel, at times it felt like being on a old cruise ship, the staircase and swing doors and architecture where amazing how ever. It was a lovely stay
Everything we love
We love the Victorian features in this hotel
Nothing all excellent.
Location was great
Cleanliness top marks
Staff very pleasant
Barmaid on duty on wednesday 25th August was most helpful to all her customers. 👍🏻 Well done to her
No alcohol free available the first night and only one beer the second night
I think these days there should be a good choice of alcohol free beers and spirits
A small fridge in the rooms would be good as well
We like staying at the prince of wales and with it being our wedding anniversary we booked a suite for a bit of luxury and ended up disappointed
We didnt like the room we stayed in the mounbatten room when we walked in we didnt get the extra bit of luxury we was waiting for the furniture didnt match we had a single grey chair with one side table and the other side table had a fridge on top of it the dressing table in the front room would. Have been better in the bedroom and a sideboard putting in its place imstead the coffee machine which was an old tassimo was not working it was leaving most of contents in the pod. In the bedroom we had no bedside tables to put a drink on during the night the two drawer units one was under the tv and the other near the door the carpet was coming up near the door. The bathroom was grey and white and then you had this chocolate brown monstrosity in the corner which would have been better tiled in two different tones of grey. I never complain about the prince of wales but the room didnt match and nothing had really been thought out properly to say it had just been upgraded in future think we will stick to the cheaper rooms better thought out and just as nice in fact they are nicer than the more expensive rooms
Everything
Nothing
Location value for money
Uncomfortable mattress
breakfast was good room was clean as expected location was spot on to get any where in Southport
Nice rooms and building, staff were friendly
Very disappointed by the online check-in. The messages sent via booking.com pushing you to use the online check-in feel overly aggressive and provides misleading information - the online check-in states check-in time is 4 pm, so I paid for early check-in to accommodate a 3 pm arrival time. However, when I arrived at the hotel I found out check-in time was actually 3 pm. Therefore, I was misled into paying extra for nothing.
In addition, check-out time is variably stated as 10 pm or 11 pm. This type of miscommunication is enough to make me rethink staying again.
Also WiFi is very slow.
On site parking, friendly and helpful staff, the hotel has character and old world charm. It's a cheap place to stay and very central so near to restaurants etc. It's used a lot for coach parties, drinks are reasonably priced and there was a singer on in the evening.
The cups in the room weren't very clean but the bedroom itself was fine. Also the bathroom shelves needed cleaning better, and the shower knob needed fixing, it looked as if the cleaning had been done in a rush.
Clean room. Nice and quiet (G1).
Very clean bathroom - even had a bath and shower.
Exceptional staff especially reception
Great value for money incl the check in price of meals.
Fabulous outdoor area at the front of hotel.
Location A1 for access to Southport facilities of beach ,shops, walks, railway etc
Normally stay Travelodge but this will be my destination of choice in future.
A very pleasant, relaxing stay in a great location. The interior was stunning with revolving doors etc and an awesome ball room I viewed.
Thankyou for a great stay.
