Great location with good facilities. Over priced
Pros:

Location and ease of parking. Late check in was welcome. Reception staff very helpful

Cons:

Work going on round reception and restaurant was unsightly. Felt it was very over priced.

Nice comfortable stay
Pros:

Easy to check.
Pool temperature very nice.
Food quality excellent at dinner.
We didn't have breakfast.

Cons:

didn't think the cocktail quality was as good as our previous stay.
Also took a while to order our dinner and then to receive our drinks.

Pros:

The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the team on breakfast. Great location for Ponds Forge too.

Cons:

The room had litter in from the previous occupants, the duvet on the bed settee was more like a mattrass topper and the pillows were awful.

Nice stay
Pros:

Room was nice as was the shower and swimming pool

Cons:

The building work should have been acknowledged as the lifts were sometimes only one working.

Also at breakfast they could do with a better toaster that actually toasts bread!

Also the surrounding area is very run down

Great location BUT eat somewhere else!
Pros:

The room and location were great, bar was good.

Cons:

Food service was appalling, waited an hour and a half for a meal that was cold when it eventually arrived, however staff were genuinely concerned. A bit disconcerting that building work was ongoing the whole time we were there.

Pros:

Nice room with great view of the canal boats and hills and a couple of armchairs from which to view it. Bed was very comfortable. Parking was easy, though it cost extra. Breakfast had a good selection.

Cons:

The lobby area was blocked off with construction, but on the other hand it will be interesting to see how it looks when we return in the future. We thought about having a drink in the bar after we went out to dinner, but it was completely empty except for the young staff, who had loud and annoying music blaring. (We didn't ask them to change the music, as the bar didn't appeal anyway, so can't complain too much.)

the hotel mangment is a mess
Pros:

The room was clean and comfy bed, and a great screen.

Cons:

the noise of the building work that started at 8am!
and the worker that walked in to my room at 1030 when i had paid for late checkout!

Great hotel which was good value
Pros:

Lovely recently refurbished room on floor 4 with a really comfortable bed we had a great nights sleep and the hotel is close to town and the tram stop

Great rooms, central location give breakfast a wide berth.
Pros:

Reception staff friendly. Able to store our bags as we were earlier than check in time. Spacious rooms and comfortable beds

Cons:

Air conditioning extra charge
Works being carried out in reception (not told of this beforehand)
Just missed last orders at 11.30pm due to being late back despite waiting over hr for taxi. Bar was full and people had just had drinks.
Food despite being delicious very long wait - waited over 10 mins to be seated ( barman did it in end) we waited over 1/2 hr for food - not enough staff and restaurant not full. Breakfast very lacked in staff not cleaning plates and not checking on breakfast items running out - I waited 15 mins for clean glass for fruit juice - toaster only toasted one side - hash browns, sausage very anaemic - very poor food and service didn’t justify the charge for breakfast quite a lot of people complained .

Disappoints on the basics
Pros:

We booked a balcony room the aircon was incredible. The bathroom beautifully designed

Cons:

The pillows were poor which is disappointing the bed and duvet lovely. The balcony needs some privacy from the adjoining bedroom as you are both sat side by side and the neighbours just sat looking into our room constantly.

There was extremely loud music in the evening somewhere in the building the whole building reverberated and it was difficult to relax we had aircon on and tv and it was impossible to lay down to sleep as the thudding of the base was worse. The breakfast was rubbish “coffee machine broken” it wasn’t it’s just cheaper to use rubbish filter coffee. Watery fruit juice. Cheap ingredients badly cooked. The best bit was the toast we did ourselves with butter.
