The location is great. The staff very friendly. But that is all. It is a Britannia hotel… I did not know at time of booking as booked in a rush last minute on the spot an hour before checking in, late evening. Britannia just lets their hotels deteriorate without care, period. Sad really as this would have been a really nice hotel when it opened.
We made it on time for the buffet dinner that was well cocked and the restaurant staff extremely nice; a treat after an exhausting day.
The pool and gym area are very small but pleasant and they sell decent swimming costumes for about £25 which was great as we did not bring luggage. Worth the £5 additional charge to hotel guests for using the facilities.
Breakfast was good and the gardens outside pleasant.
If you pay for the premium rooms, they are fabulous but the standard ones, I.e. most of the rooms, are old, badly maintained and uncomfortable. We book a tween by mistake with the rush as it is the first in the list… OMG what a room😞: hard mattresses, both different height, thick pillows, shower head could not be moved and spraying the whole bathroom floor as the glass covers only a small part of the bath edge.

The location of the hotel was great, staff were lovely, very friendly, the entertainment team were great,
I was very disappointed that we didn't have a sea view room, we had a view of a car park. The size of the hotel and amount of guests I'm sure sea views were available,
We stay at the Royal Bath each year as it's a beautiful hotel, with great staff, and the location is very central.
Parking at the hotel is very steep, parking at the car park next to the hotel is also steep.
We didn't have a great sleep, our door was sticking so you had to slam it shut, we heard the door slam next to us early hours so I guess they had the same issue.
The bed wasn't comfortable, very springy, the pillows were like sleeping on a bag of monkey nuts. It was quite warm , there was a fan in the room with the cover that was covered in dust, and a picture in the wardrobe, not on the wall.
The hotel has always lived up to our expectations, apart from this time. We were quite disappointed. We both woke up really tired and aching all over.
The history of the place and its proximity to the beach. Nice staff, battle and garden.
Hot water wasn’t working but it was during one of the heat waves, so it didn’t matter so much.
We were upgraded to a nice room without us asking, king-size bed and a sea view.

A beautiful hotel, lovely rooms.
Slightly dated, creaky floor.
Although beautifully positioned this once graceful hote has suffered the ravages of time. In desperate need of an upgrade.
No water pressure so showering is impossible. Rooms do not get serviced and you have to contact reception to obtain tea,coffee top up,change towels etc.
Parking is an additional £28 a day.
The seating area by the bar and garden area was absolutely lovely,
Location was ideal if you don’t want to walk far!

Well… the room was very tired, the bed was against the wall which wasn’t a small double in my opinion. More like a single…
The breakfast on the first day ran out sometimes, but 2nd day we went earlier and it was fine, not a fan of having to pay extra for a freezing cold pool when everywhere else it’s included in the price
£56 for valet parking is bad..

I had room only option and bought snacks or meals at the bar. Great food at reasonable price. Room was spacious and the hotel is located very close to the beach, theatres and shops
The enterttainment was excellent . However it was not advertised anywhere. There are signs outside the hotel welcoming non residents and advertising entertainment. BUT there is no indication what is available, where and when. On one occasion the bingo was cancelled as there was so little take up. There must be advertising and marketing of entertainment. This hotel should be a 'location' in the area for entertainment. Ity could be and would be if the variety of entertainment was ADVERTISED !!
It was fine
The bed was absolutely awful. The worst I’ve stayed on Premier Inn is better. Ended up at the doctors the following week with my back was so bad.

Pool, downstairs areas of the hotel reflecting period Victorian grandeur. Convenient for the town centre and beach.
Bedroom looked tired and smelt musty. We were woken at 6am by the TV being switched on in the next room on both mornings of our stay (including a Sunday), everything heard clearly through an adjoining door.
Hot buffet food was mostly lukewarm, and at times staff failed to keep platters topped up.
“Evening entertainment” was little more than karaoke which had to be endured while eating.
Staff where lovely very helpfull.
Had to move rooms 3 times when I got there as they just weren't suitable and what I expected. The second room they moved me to was nice but TV and Shower didn't work but, I got moved again to a live room with no arguments. The reception staff were great. I ended up staying an extra night because it's such a lovely peacefull hotel 😊
