The staff were really friendly and helpful and the room and hotel were very clean
My 1 little tiny complaint, was simply that I didn't get any butter with my scrambled eggs and toast - maybe I didn't look properly?
Everyone was very friendly and the hotel was clean and inviting
We booked a table at the restaurant and we kept waiting to be seated. We were the only ones dining. The food was very good though and service after that was fine

Wir mussten 40 Pfund extra für das Frühstück bezahlen, obwohl es über Booking.com inclusive gebucht war. Die Begründung war, dass nur ein kontinentales Frühstück inbegriffen gewesen wäre. Darauf wurden wir im Frühstücksraum nicht hingewiesen.

The superior room was disappointing. We had high expectations based on the pictures but it was more like a basic B&B room, far from superior..
Bubbling, peeling wall paper, discoloured silicone around the small bath.
We also paid extra for breakfast, to be told that "breakfast" was extra cost and we could only eat the cereal and toast.. the filter coffee was gritty with coffee grounds...

We were upgraded to a deluxe — the room was decorated lovely, with book case wallpaper and very nice bedside lamps. The bed was surprising, normally hotel mattresses are hard…this bed was SO comfortable, very soft, a great night sleep! The night desk staff was lovely and he told us everything we needed to know. He was polite and related well; very friendly and welcoming.
Luckily there was one car parking space left which we got, however there should be more parking for hotel guests.

Drain of washbasin was not functioning properly. The ventilation filter in bath was dirty.

When we booked it said breakfast included. Was extremely disappointed to find out this only meant a continental breakfast. We ordered a croissant and a juice and were left waiting for nearly 20 minutes!! In the end we had to to leave after watching 2 other tables that sat down after us have their orders brought out. Went and complained to reception straight away but not the point. We’ve stayed here before and enjoyed a delicious cooked breakfast included within the price. This time being offered a continental breakfast when paying over £200 for a room for 1 night is not acceptable and we will not be returning.
