great location , confirtable beds , noce barlounge area shocking buffet breakfast
Pros:

location, layout and openers of entrance and bar lounge area . the old panelling and fireplace in the bar .

Cons:

The buffet breakfast was extremely poor to non existent . If it is purely table service which you pay for that should be clearly stated at booking . Really lets down the hotel

Characterful hotel, but disappointing value for money
Pros:

Friendly and responsive communication before arrival, and the staff were polite throughout our stay. The hotel has character and is in a very central location, making it convenient for exploring Canterbury. The rooms were clean and generally comfortable, and check-in was straightforward.

Cons:

Unfortunately, the stay did not feel like good value for money. We paid over £900 for one night for two rooms in one of the hotel’s highest room categories, yet the rooms felt fairly basic and lacked premium features such as notable views, balconies, terraces, separate seating areas, or anything that made the stay feel special.

There were also several maintenance issues. One TV would not switch on until power was restored at the socket, suggesting a known issue, and the hairdryer in another room repeatedly overheated and shut down.

Sleep quality was also affected by the curtains. Despite being advertised as blackout curtains, they allowed a significant amount of light to enter around the sides and top of the window. By around 5:00-5:30am, sunlight was shining directly onto the pillow, making it difficult to continue sleeping.

What disappointed us most was the lack of attention to detail. Prior to arrival, I exchanged messages with the hotel explaining that this was a special family trip with visiting parents from Germany and a birthday celebration. The team responded warmly and suggested they would do their best to make the stay memorable, but there was no birthday card, note, amenity, or acknowledgement during the stay.

Overall, the hotel was pleasant enough and well located, but for the price paid we expected a much more memorable experience and significantly better value.

Pros:

Excellent location, friendly & helpful staff, big room

Cons:

The way that beakfast was served was a little odd, and served in an erattic order, e.g. fruit juice came last. Not impressed compared to all the other hotels that I have ever stayed at

Insanely noisy all night
Pros:

Room was nice.

Cons:

Student party right under window in the town. Felt like hundreds of kids partying till 3am right outside window. If they know this might happen room should be cheaper.haven't slept all night and feel terrible.
Very doubtful id stay again.

Pros:

Convenient location
Air conditioning

Cons:

Price for the room we got. Expecting Queen bed got 2 singles with one mattress collapsed to one side meaning you'd fall out. Was situated right by the lift, but understand someone always will be.

I'll stay again as convenient, but that would be the only reason.
Pros:

Comfy bed, slept well. Town center location. Was attending a meeting at the venue, so super convenient.

Cons:

Breakfast..the "hearty breakfast included" was a few options, cooked was an additional pay at the venue price. Included was 1 glass of fruit juice. Top up was an additonal £3.95!

My room was right next to the only road with traffic in the area, was woken by deliveries to the sainsbury's next door at the bin lorry at 6am

Travel lodge facilities at boutique hotel prices
Pros:

The location is central and the staff are attentive.

Cons:

The rooms are tired and old fashioned. Felt like being a premier inn/ travel lodge at boutique hotel prices. The 'breakfast included' covers continental only. The dining room does not have enough space to seat everyone for breakfast so you end up waiting. Disappointing.

Disappointing. Canterbury became feral after dark:Deliveroo riders and dodgy groups of young men.
Cons:

Breakfast was miserly- Expected to pay for topups to coffee/tea/ .Stingy portions for continental breakfast.( i.e. 1 croissant)
Bathroom was tricky- shower door fixed so couldn't reach bath taps. Everything screwed down so difficult to reach/use.
