There wasn’t really anything I didn’t like

dinner took 2 and a half hours not enough staff

Meal on the 1st night was over2 hours late and we got a feeble apology off the waiter, I told the receptionist when we left on weds morning and she said that all the staff on Monday had a very trying day and I’m sorry everyone was so stressed but that had nothing to do with me or my husband if you have overloaded your selves on bookings that’s your fault if you couldn’t deal with it perhaps you shouldn’t haven’t taken load of bookings, and the breakfast was a bit like a cattle market people everywhere all trying to get breakfast at the same time it’s not brill, the coffee machines weren’t working on the weds but nobody bothered to put a sign on it to say it wasn’t working people kept going up to it to get there coffee a member of staff kept saying to people it’s not working eventually they put a sign on it say out of order would it not have been easier to do that right from the beginning total chaos

Sterile and basic. One member of staff on reception very unhelpful and rude during check in. Couldn’t find second room, didn’t care at all that 3 of us may have to squash into 1 room despite being their error. Rectified later on return from wedding very easily. Customer facing Staff retraining recommended.

Didn't have a full breakfast as some items didn't' look appetising but was still overall impressed with our stay

Dinner was really bad / food was not worth the money. Under staffed and the staff on run ragged - could not give good service

There was so much to do

The staff attitude overall was poor. The time it took from ordering meals to them arriving was 45 minutes! There was a complete mess up with our booking for tables for dinner on the night of our arrival. Check in was slow and onerous. The place was a bit run down. The breakfast was a bit ordinary. They didn’t know what face cloths were and certainly didn’t supply them. The two cotton balls supplied in the room were the tiniest I’ve ever seen. Bath robes were not supplied in the room.

I ate my evening meal in the bar, unfortunately the service was a little slow and limited menu.

Reception miserable, like a robot, no smile or nicety

When there was an issue on the Tuesday evening, which effected food service, not the hotels fault, things happen, but this is where you think TEAM WORK PULLING TOGETHER!!! just because you might have a bigger title ( well in your head) than others it doesn't mean you can't get your hands dirty, instead of pilling the food on the hotplate, and coming out EMPTY HANDED, telling the staff lots of food waiting to go, then sitting down in the bar with people you know, you could of HELPED, there's a certain appreciation that goes with the CHEF, serving food, the guests feel connected, or else you're going to get bad feedback, about inedible food, believe it or not people do like the connection with chefs, especially if it's the chef in charge on shift!!!! The bar top was full of things waiting to be washed, that's how busy those guy's were on front of house!!! They showed empathy, and still had a smile, and they were under the COSH, well done you two!!! 👍👍👍💯💯 My own issues were, my bed wasn't made, it was just as I left it, my dirty towels not changed, although I left them on the floor in a heap as a prompt, first time put back on towel rail USED, when Mentioned it was told I could make it up myself or it will take over an hour, been out all day to come back and find this, was a shock, I could of stayed at home and made my own bed!!! Bringing clean towels that evening did not reflect what should of happened in the first place, room been serviced, that included bathroom floor, then it doesn't warrant any refund because my bed wasn't made!!! It was a lot of money spent on that trip!!! Duty manager Beth? Sorted it, I make my own bed up every day, clean bathroom floor, change my towels, YES AT HOME!!! But thank you to all who were there to make it ok in the end!!! 💯😊.
