The bed was comfortable and the room clean. The staff member was very good to deal with.

Cons:

The facilities were so poorly maintained. Half the place was under renovation, it seemed. I couldn’t access the gym and the building seems somewhat unsafe.

Pros:

Good location,decent price. Missleading advertising, breakfast (yet menu was still in the room), and a restaurant and bar facilities, and pool, they were all closed for renovations.

Cons:

When i booked and paid, there was no mention of a closed restaurant or bar. Got an email after paying. When I called to confirm if there was food available, which was a no, and made it clear the details on the websites concerning the hotel, were misleading, the woman was not at all understanding, and a bit abrupt. She did give us a decent room, although it had wires hanging out of the wall next to the bathroom mirror. We were only there 1 night. Beautiful old building but very much in need of renovation.

Loved the short stay, would like to be back soon.
Pros:

Very friendly staff when we arrived late. The room was super neat and clean. Loved the history behind the hotel. Highly recommend. I would like to be back very soon.

It will no doubt be lovely, once the renovation is complete.
Pros:

Overall, the hotel is nice, BUT, it is currently under renovation and I'm not sure that I would have booked it if I had known that. I would prefer to stay only when the renovations have finished. The staff were lovely.

Didn't stay we left after for 5 minutes that's all it took for us to know it was not safe.
Pros:

The Mecure was totally not what we expected. It was a demolition site, it smelt and the furnishings and decor were outdated. We lost our money as we chose not to stay there.

Cons:

The fact it was a demoliltion site. I thought the pool was going to be the only thing being renovated NOT the whole hotel.

Pros:

Beautiful old building loved the corridors and furnishings
Our room was generous in size, good colour scheme
King g size bed comfy
Staff were very friendly

Cons:

Needs the renovation which is happening, though not much noise experienced
Wasn't told till after booking
Our shower leaked terribly which we used our towels to mop up, vanity sink blocked up and the plug system wouldn't hold the water
I told the staff, but due to renovations they couldn't move us!
The beds didn't have donnas just woolen blankets
The external building g had no kept gardens, but ample parking
