Location
Unfortunately our room was next to gym, heavy noises.
Loud chatting noises from outside lawn…possible to move the lawn chairs away from the building?
The location, the room was comfortable, the food was good!
The swimming pool and jacuzzi were full of dirt......

Taxes obligatoires de 34 dollars par jour à ajouter
I have stayed at the Jamaica Bay Inn a good few times before covid with my hubby and then later with my sister and loved it, the staff were all so friendly and helpful. This time I persuaded my son , his family and daughter and her family to stay there too as were having a family reunion, we hadn’t seen our son my daughters twin for 8 years.
This time however was completely different, charging $3.00 for a small bottle of water is expensive, and as I like milk with my tea I asked for a glass for the room and was charged $7.99 for it. We had taxes added to our room on a nightly basis which we weren’t expecting, one of which the hotel allow complimentary paddle boarding,2 bikes, 10% discount daily off food and beverages but neither my son nor I were informed about this and I only found out about after he had returned to Idaho, and he paid $70 for the paddle boards and had paid cash for meals so didn’t benefit at all from it. He also paid $150 for valet parking, but parked and collected his own car being directed to the far end of the car park. This cost for parking a car on top of an already expensive room rate I feel is rather excessive. My room with just me staying cost $2,162 for 5 nights, the breakfast costs are expensive and quite a limited choice.
Most of the staff I found to be lovely and helpful even when they were busy.
The room was lovely and always kept beautifully clean. All in all I felt a bit let down this time at the hotel after my previous experiences there.
The location is perfectly situated being near Mother's beach, the marina and some restaurants. The rooms are a good size with plenty of storage.
Having complementary bottled water daily and also milk for making tea would be preferable to paying $3 for a small bottle of water and $7.99 for a cup of milk. Also weren’t told about the complimentary paddle boards etc at check in.
Location is great, staff were friendly and the room was comfortable.
The additional $34 per night compulsory charge that was not known before checking in. Also, paying for a marina view room to find it didn’t have a balcony.
The service was fantastic, the food was delicious and the valet parking attendant, Rogelio , was great.
The food in the restaurant is good
On the second night of our stay we were kept up by the guest in the room above us. First by noises associated with intercourse and then pacing the room for hours on end. It was extremely upsetting for our two daughters. I went down to reception twice. The personnel tried to placate me without doing anything significant. They waved the valet parking fee but that does not balance the totally horrible and unacceptable experience.
I stayed at Jamaica Bay in May on business bc I usually stay at the Marriott MDR but it was booked due to a conference. I had a great experience. Nikki was particularly warm and helpful throughout my stay with my check-in and food deliveries even when the lobby was full of folks needing something. As a result, I felt I would want to stay again in the future.
I booked a room for myself and a colleague this weekend and, when he checked in today, he was treated horribly by another woman at the front desk. He ultimately asked her, “How do you treat a guest like this?” And she just stared back at him. I was so upset I called and, fortunately, Nikki picked up the phone. I remembered her from my last stay and, being consistent, she was very empathetic and helpful with this situation.
It’s people like Nikki that really make or break a hospitality experience and Jamaica Bay is fortunate to have her at the front desk.

Location
The hostess was rude and it took to long to wait for the food. The online menu didn’t reflect kids menu.
I was genuinely excited to stay here because the location is great, but unfortunately my experience was disappointing from start to finish.
The biggest issue was the unexpected fees. I booked through Booking.com, and nowhere during the booking process was it made clear that I would be charged an additional **$78** upon arrival. Surprise charges like this leave a very negative first impression.
The cleanliness was also unacceptable. I found a hair in the bed sheets and the toilet bowl was dirty, which immediately made me question whether the room had been properly cleaned before my arrival.
Housekeeping entered our room without knocking or announcing themselves. Even more confusing, they didn't make the beds or clean the room—they simply left shaving cream that we never requested.
There were also multiple fire alarms going off during our stay with little to no communication or explanation from hotel staff, which was both disruptive and concerning.
Finally, customer service was lacking. Our room didn't have any coffee cups, so when I asked the front desk if we could have some to make the in-room coffee, I was told to come downstairs and get them myself instead of having them brought to the room.
Overall, this stay did not meet the standard I expected. Between the hidden fees, cleanliness issues, lack of communication, and poor customer service, I would not choose to stay here again unless these issues are addressed.
