staff were helpful and attentive, it was quite in the corridors and central location. Also the shower was excellent
the rooms/ hallways are very tired, old and shabby looking - like they haven't been refurbished since the 70s! In particular there was no air conditioning and it was boiling in the rooms, the carpets were very old and dirty looking and the general state of the room was quite tired. I usually stay in the Ibis Marygate, which is cheaper but much much more modern! There was no water in the room so i had to go down and get some.

More healthy options for menu and breakfast would be helpful.
The parking pay screen can be seen clearly from a difference and asks for reg number, email, phone number. Not great for safety if travelling alone! Strongly suggest repositioning it so it can't be seen by anyone standing nearby.

Rooms are a little tired. Breakfast was cold, so a total waste of money. We let the staff know and they were apologetic, and even replaced all the cooked breakfast items but the food was still barely lukewarm. Presumably the hot plates don’t work. Strongly recommend avoiding the hotel breakfast and trying the cafe in the Winter Gardens next door instead.

The F+B team was very good. The HOD was especially attentive and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, we feel as though the reception team was not as solid. On check-in, we felt like an inconvenience, even though there was no one else there. We were not given important details such as the breakfast times or details about the pool. When we later went to ask about these details, we found that there was no one at reception. And one time, the F+B HOD came to help us. The F+B HOD was definitely the stand out for us, and made our stay nice.

The pillows were awful, I was unable to sleep and I presumed that the rooms had air con.
