Great location
Pros:

Most staff very friendly.

Cons:

Breakfast choice coukd have varied a bit. And plugs nearer both beds in twin room.

Great base for hiking in Peak District
Pros:

Close to station so very easy to get to the Hope Valley line each day for hikes. Nice pool and steam room for relaxing. Excellent breakfast with good vegan options. Close to restaurants.

Cons:

On one of our bed changes, the new mattress protector put on had an obvious blood stain on it. Shouldn’t be in circulation still.

The hotel was lovely and clean, facilities, swimming pool and gym were good and staff were really friendly and helpful

Cons:

The glass in the bathroom for drinking water had obviously had pens stood in it at some point and still had ink in it. There was a panel below the sink that had come away from the wall and was just kind of hanging off. There was no plug in the sink.

Perfect for a place to stay if you’re at the theatre
Pros:

Great location, lovely staff, clean room, great value for money.

Cons:

The room was very hot, a fan was provided but blew hot air around the room, as only a small window. Otherwise perfect

Tired hotel
Pros:

We stayed for a night before heading into the Peak District. The hotel room was dated and hadn’t been properly cleaned. We found long strands of hair in the sink and bath. We told reception and the guy on the desk really wasn’t bothered about it. The room was very hot - the temperature control didn’t seem to work and even with the window open it was uncomfortable sleeping. The shower fitting was also broken.
