Cons:

In het restaurant vraagt men 15,5 euro voor een coupe champagne maar waarvoor men veel te weinig champagne krijgt. Hetzelfde met de wijn. Te kleine glazen in verhouding met de prijs

Im großen und Ganzen gut
Pros:

Die Zimmer sowie das Frühstück sind hervorragend. Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend, hilfsbereit und freundlich. Der Garten mit dem Stein Pool ist aber das absolute Highlight was zum entspannen einlädt.

Cons:

Der Pool Bereich im inneren lässt große Zweifel aufkommen ob die 5 Sterne des Hotels gerechtfertigt sind. Die Decke ist nicht dicht und es tropft in den Pool. An der Wand und um den Pool herum ist Moss sowie die Beschichtung im Pool Blätter ab. In der Dampfsauna fallen die Mosaik Fliesen von überall ab.

Andorra Park Hotel: The Lake That Almost Kept Me Awake

Andorra Park Hotel has been standing here since 1957. It is one year younger than my mum. :)
When we arrived, I entered through the door and started looking for the reception. To get there, however, I had to walk through the entire lower floor of the hotel. Now I understand why: we arrived from the side of the original, traditional part of the hotel. Later, a huge new section was added. Wow. 94 rooms.
But what fascinates me the most here? And I cannot stop looking at it. Eye-catcher, 100%. The natural-meets-man-made outdoor lake, shaped partly by a piece of rock. Impressive. Raw, and yet so tender. Romantic. The colour? It shifts from deep, dark, almost abyss-blue into that unforgettable azure. The lake almost kept me awake at night. I am only staying here for two nights, but I simply had to move to a room with a balcony overlooking it. No other way around. :-D
Sleep is my high priority. And here, it is beautifully taken care of. Extra-size king bed. A great mattress. A mattress protector that does not make any annoying rustling sounds. And a pillow menu with several options: anti-stress, high pillow, visco-elastic, duvet, deep sleep, young, visco ergonomic, cervical fibre ergonomique, latex. Nine types. Impressive again.
Car handling and valet parking — very nice to have.
A massage bathtub with coloured lighting, again with several colours to choose from. This is where I learned another important life lesson: you do not really need to put as much foam into a whirlpool bath as you would into a regular bathtub. :-D But I truly enjoyed that bubble storm. Tristar almost could not find me. Not disappearing completely into the foam was a superhuman effort.
What is a bit tricky here: dog walking. Dogs are allowed in the hotel. Dogs are allowed at breakfast. But dogs are not allowed in the garden. Jaj. Not good. I understand it from the property’s point of view, but from a dog owner’s perspective, it is quite a pain... to be continued

So we go outside and Tristar politely waters the local trees in front of the hotel.
To lie on the surface of the lake and consume the Pyrenees — literally tasting them with all my senses. Yum.
The hotel impressed me with its large collection of paintings and other works of art, accompanying me at every step. A wooden mirrored elevator with a very pleasant scent. A mature olive tree placed inside a huge aquarium-like glass structure right in the main lounge area by the reception. Leather sofas by the elevators. A traditionally forged staircase in the original part of the hotel. A tower, almost like an Andorran tower. Antique furniture in the corridors.
The whole place breathes tradition and history, gently complemented by modern art.
A lot to discover here.
