Service
9.8
Staff repeatedly praised as exceptional, attentive and personable across many reviews; isolated report of rude/unhelpful staff is noted but outweighed by strong positive experience accounts.
Location
9.6
Consistently described as a beautiful setting in a national trust park with great walks and proximity to Heathrow; location is a major positive.

Rooms praised for comfort and spaciousness by some, but multiple reports of small rooms, no bath, shower/temperature issues, damp and heating problems lower this score.

Lovely but fleeced
Pros:

We stayed overnight. We’ve used the spa for treatments and we had dinner in the restaurant. The house and facilities and service were great. However our room was very small and had no bath.

Cons:

Small room and when it came time to check out the various service charges added hundreds and hundreds to the bill. I felt a bit fleeced

Indulge your "what's it like to be royalty" fantasy for a night or two
Pros:

It's expensive but for special occasions I think worth it. They do an excellent job taking care of you and the food is excellent. Great linens, bed and pillows. The house is beautiful, of course, if a bit worn in places. Great walking on site. Close to Heathrow if that matters. You get a taste of what it must have been like to spend a weekend at a country estate in the old days.

Cons:

can't think of thing
