Perfect place to relax
Pros:

Everything was excellent — from the staff and the food to the spa, the bedroom and the beautiful grounds. Everything was clean, comfortable and wonderful. Honestly, our stay was pretty much perfect.

We even forgot our swimsuits in the bedroom, and the hotel kindly mailed them to us. They arrived a couple of days later, which was such a thoughtful touch.

We can’t wait to go back!

Übernachten in einem historischem Anwesen
Pros:

Besonders gut gefallen hat uns das durchweg aufmerksame und freundliche Personal. Bereits einige Tage vor unserer Anreise wurden wir telefonisch von Christina kontaktiert, die sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit war. Vor Ort wurden wir von Carolin betreut, die außergewöhnlich freundlich und zuvorkommend war, sie hat uns unseren Aufenthalt versüsst.

Auch das wunderschöne Anwesen und die schönen, historisch eingerichteten Zimmer haben uns sehr gut gefallen. Besonders aufmerksam fanden wir die persönlichen Namenskärtchen an den Zimmern sowie die kleine Geburtstagsüberraschung, die man als Gast an seinem Geburtstag erhält.

Cons:

Was uns leider nicht überzeugt hat, war das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis in einigen Bereichen.

Insbesondere im SPA-Bereich besteht aus unserer Sicht deutlicher Instandsetzungs- und Reinigungsbedarf. Wir wissen, dass der Pool unter Denkmalschutz steht, dennoch wäre eine Instandsetzung des Außenbereichs notwendig. Auch die beiden Whirlpools sollten dringend instandgesetzt werden, bei beiden fehlten Düsen. Zudem sollten die Auflagen der Stühle und Liegen regelmäßiger und gründlicher gereinigt werden.

Leider haben wir bei mehreren Bestellungen schmutzige Teekannen und/oder Gläser erhalten.

Auch beim Frühstück gab es Verbesserungspotenzial: Obwohl das Frühstück bis 10 Uhr angeboten wird, wurde ab ca. 9 Uhr teilweise nicht mehr nachgefüllt. Erst auf Nachfrage wurden Speisen wieder aufgefüllt.

Pros:

Expensive; but incredibly high standard that made it worth it. We had a short stay but were amazed by the service once we arrived. Lovely facilities and Junior Suites were wonderful.

Cons:

Staff were quite rude and blunt on email before the stay; not accommodating reasonable requests.

Very nice stay!
Pros:

Historical property very well located close to London

Cons:

Very expensive for the level of service. 300 pounds was added to my bill as a theoretical « tip » that I never offered to pay (we included tips when having a meal on the property restaurants) - which I thought was dishonest and very high for 2 days stay.

I loved the hotel’s classic charm. The gardens, the river, and the beautiful surrounding nature made the stay feel peaceful and relaxing. The room was quiet, beautiful, and very comfortable, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable
