Cons:

Nachts eher laut da halt eben zentral, das 3. Bett war sehr hart und die Decke improvisiert mit einer Decke eingepackt in Bettwäsche. Für den Preis allgemein hätte ich da schon mehr erwartet. Zimmer (wenn 3. Bett drinsteht) eher klein.

Schäbiges, viel zu teures Hotel
Pros:

Die Lage war völlig OK - zu Fuss dauerte es 15 Minuten bis zum Castle. Das Frühstück im Restaurant vis-a-vis war sehr gut und reichhaltig (man konnte ein Menü bestellen) und kostete pauschal 15 GBP pro Person (im Hotel zu bezahlen).

Cons:

Das Zimmer (ein 3-Bett-Zimmer für uns und unseren Sohn) war alt und heruntergekommen, mit "Blick" auf einen kleinen, ebenso schäbigen Innenhof. Die Fenster konnten nur einen Spaltbreit geöffnet werden, und es war heiss und stickig. Gleich nebenan war eine riesige Baustelle, und ab 8 Uhr war der Lärm ohrenbetäubend. Das Doppelbett war mit ca. 140cm viel zu schmal für 2 Personen. Insgesamt stimmte Preis/Leistung überhaupt nicht (wir haben sagenhafte 280 GBP pro Nacht bezahlt, ohne Frühstück). Wir sind sonst überhaupt nicht heikel, aber das war für uns eine richtig negative Erfahrung.

Wir kommen sicher nicht mehr in dieses Hotel.
Pros:

Die Lage war sehr gut.

Cons:

In Zimmer 404 zeitweise kein Internet verfügbar. Das hat schon genervt und ist nicht 4-Sterne würdig. Das Badezimmer war nicht modern und kaum Abstellfläche vorhanden. Das Frühstück in einem Café auf der anderen Strassenseite, welches sehr unflexibel war. Es war nicht möglich eine Müslibowl zu haben und noch ein Ei dazu. Das hätte extra gekostet. Ist definitiv nicht, was man sich sonst von 4 Sterne gewohnt ist. Baulärm morgens ab 8.00 Uhr

Nice hotel in a good location.
Pros:

The hotel location is good, 10 min walk from Edinburgh Waverly station and mostly flat. Some nice cafes and restaurants around the area. There is a Thai restaurant just across the street. The hotel beds are comfortable. Cold drinking water dispenser provided on every floor. The staff is friendly and available 24 hr at the counter. They allowed luggage storage before checking in and after checking out.

Cons:

There are 2 sets of steps at the entrance of the hotel, be prepared if you big luggages or wheelchair. They have only wall-mounted shower option in our room.

Okay for one night. We had a good rest overall.
Pros:

Good location and clean inside.

Cons:

However there are quite a few stairs that you’ll have to manage yourself without any lift or help provided. There was no drinking water inside the room and the water dispenser wasn’t working on the 4th floor. No usb charging points inside the room either.

Good choice in Edinburgh. Excellent location.
Pros:

Super well located, the hotel was comfortable and reached the expectations of our stay in Edinburgh. Beds were comfortable, all worked well. The drains in the shower and in the sink were clogged, though. And that wasn’t solved during our short stay. Not a big setback, however, I would definitely stay there again.

Nice hotel with comfy beds.
Pros:

The hotel is about 10-15 min walk from Waverley station, and mostly flat. Edinburgh castle is within walking distance. Our room is a duplex and very spacious. The beds are comfortable. They allowed luggage storage before and after staying. The hotel has a lift and waiting area at the lobby.

Cons:

The wall-mounted shower is the only option in our room. Steps at the entrance with no wheelchair-accessible ramp.
