Nice hotel and in a good location. Not cheap but not expensive either for Winchester.
We were attending a funeral and asked if we could have the room at 2;00pm.
They said the room was ready, but it would be £25 extra to check in early, so we left it.
We booked in at 11pm as a result and was surprised that a room hadn't even been allocated to us
It just felt so unnecessary.
The location was very good, just a short walk to restaurants and shops
Parking easy but it is pay and display.
Spa was nice and clean and not busy considering the hotel was pretty full.
The mini fridge in the room is a nice touch.
Staff were always a bit distracted on reception.
The hotel has a carpark which you have to pay £10 for 24 hours, but this was full. There is another carpark right outside which is £7 for 24 hours, so better value anyway.
There could have been a better selection of gin in the bar.
I don't think you should have to pay £7 for robes for the spa.
Generous with coffee tea and even added hot chocolate. Housekeeping was great, even helped us with a massive spider in the bathroom. Enjoyed the pool, jacuzzi and sauna
The kettle needs proper limescale cleaning
Size, decor, walking distance from the station, restaurant and bar on site, spa.
A/c broken and when we were promised a second fan it never arrived. Twin beds were VERY close together!
The spa was nice, location was good for town
The boiler had broke meaning there was not hot water to the room which we were not told in advance of arriving. There were no spare rooms left but were given a choice to go to another hotel that they would cover the cost of (but had already had alcohol so could not drive and already had family stoppingin another room in the hotel) or could have discount and use the spa facilities. We agreed to use the spa facilities but out of the 2 showers in the women's changing room only 1 worked which meant quite long wait times. Was offered free car parking too but was told this after we had already paid for a car park so was pointless but could have been useful if told in advance.
The very comfortable bed
Breakfast bar wasn’t topped up sufficiently
The price was in line with the facilities and comfort level of the hotel. The room was adequate, bed was comfortable enough and quiet. Air conditioning in the room was great.
Spa was tiny. Pool could be crossed within 30 seconds and jacuzzi fit 4 to 5 people at a squeeze (and we are not large people!). Worst was the cleaninless. The steam room had a worm that was wriggling around on the floor and the jacuzzi had some soap like bubbles that had some brown or grey scum on top. Was very off-putting. Despite using flip flops and drying my feet well I still managed to get athletes foot from the facilities and this was only after using them twice as we only stayed one night. The lady who ran the spa was fantastic and friendly but the tattooed girl who checked us in was not friendly at all. She told us there were no robes for us to use but when we went to the spa they gave some out to another couple - when we asked this lady was lovely and got us some robes but the receptionist had no clue and had no enthusiasm to help.
I like the location, the bed and the bathroom
The fridge doesn't work, the staff are confused about the requests.
The jacuzzi is dirty. I ordered breakfast (room service is not high expectations enough)
I asked for jam and tea and cereals so none of these in my breakfast
I didn’t like nothing
I didn’t like everything
I really enjoyed staying in this hotel!
Only one downside was the door that let in the noise from the corridor.
We’ve used this hotel for short business stays and have always been impressed in all aspects. Welcoming staff, spotless rooms that are thoughtfully planned and well equipped. The restaurant is great too and the service excellent.
Nothing to dislike apart from having to pay to park as the car park at the rear is tiny
