It was absolutely beautiful
Missed the haunted tour
Location was okay. It was only okay because there isn't really much around the area. Some restaurants and bars but not really a downtown area to speak of.
I liked the general look and history of the hotel which appeared to be a real selling point to the domestic tourists we spook to.
The hotel internal pool was quite nice.
The valet is efficient and quick and quite helpful. We were told that we could reverse into the meter bay and only pay from 8am if we wanted to, guy was helpful when certainly didn't need to be. As I didn't want to go down and feed the meter myself I didn't park on the street.
Upsold a room and told the room we'd booked is very small. I really didn't appreciate the busy checkin upsell, peer pressure with people less than a foot away hearing me dedide if I wanted a really "small room" or updrade to a "insert fanfare" as he waved his arms to show it was a great deal. He even said he as was told to use his arms to emphasise it. What a crock.
Hotel restaurant was very expensive also so we avoided it and went elsewhere. I will say that the ambience of the restaurant certainly appeated top tier.
No tea/coffee in the public area provided other than the small amount in the room or the upsell of the attached Starbucks.
We enquired about the tour of the hotel that another guest told us about. We were told it was full that day but apparently not full it we had "cash". Yes, if we gave a tip we could join the tour.
The bathroom "door", there is a surge of hotels putting on pocket or barn doors. If you like them and are comfortable with the sounds your travelling partner makes then so be it but a door that doesn't fully close and can be seen through at the sides isn't an attractive feature,
We only stayed one night but the staff was so friendly and helpful and the lobby was absolutely stunning. Having a coffee shop in the lobby was also a bonus. We enjoyed a ghost tour of Annalisa Netherly's room and that was so interesting. Fortunately, she didn't haunt our room afterwards :) I used the fitness center and my daughter used the pool and we cannot wait to return as she will be attending UTC starting this fall.
Nothing!
Me like
The hotel is exquisite! Walking in I felt like I was royalty. The valet, doorman, and front desk staff were all very friendly and welcoming.
Right in the heart of downtown.Within walking distance to many places we wanted to visit.
Side of hotel we stayed on was deserted. Paint was peeling. Storage was awkward. No shower door so water got everywhere.
Everything, wish we could have been there longer
We loved everything about this hotel, a little old and quirky but that is what we wanted, exceptionally well decorated throughout with a great atmosphere and facilities.
Breakfast was only available in the hotel at a weekend
I love the style of the hotel how beautiful the lobby is. The staff was all very kind and helpful.
There was only one elevator running so it took quite a while to get on an elevator. The bathrooms were beautiful but the water pressure wasn't great.
The hotel was amazing in every way!
Nothing. Everyone and everything was excellent.
Everything perfect, staff, room, value for money, location.
A stunning building very well maintained, some fascinating antique items on display.
The Chophouse restaurant was exceptional both with food and service.
Great room, Comfortable and awesome shower. Door Greeters were great and helpful! Valet employees were above and beyond, very polite, and extremely helpful. Thank you for an awesome stay!
Liked everything. Would love a seat in the shower to relax..
