Firstly the negatives -
(1) On arrival I mentioned that we had booked a ‘quiet’ room. However, we found that the receptionists had not listened to us and when we reached the room this was based at the front of the hotel on the main road with busy traffic. However, they did rectify this and we were then allocated an appropriate quieter room. Management N.B. either train your receptionists so that they know the outlay of the bedrooms of the actual building or receptionists listen to your clientele to avoid this avoidable inconvenience. I would point out that I had booked this accommodation several months ago so it was not a last minute booking.
(2) The parking fee is too high at £20.00 per night - you can get nearby parking at a cheaper rate but how secure it is may be another story!
(3) The bathroom although adequate was dated and needed modernisation so not really 4 star quality.
Positives -
(1) This hotel is in a prime position in the very centre of Chester with access to all the amenities.
(2)This is generally an attractive well run hotel - our bedroom itself was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Where this hotel excels is the
breakfasts which are the best we have ever had in an hotel - cannot be faulted and has everything possible is on offer for an excellent meal. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.
Fab reception staff. They went out of their way to be kind and helpful. Loved the pool and spa. Restaurant for dinner was fab and so was the breakfast.
I've stayed here before but never had breakfast. The breakfast was amazing! Well worth the money, fresh, hot, lots of variety.
I love the pool area, and it is one of the reasons I stay here.
My son t enjoyed his breakfast and my continental was ok.
We arrived at 3.30pm and the room was not serviced. There were a bag of rubbish on the floor, a cold cup of tea unfinished and towels in bathroom were used and hanging on the heating rail and behind the bathroom door.
We were then relocated to room 112.
The curtains were hanging loosely on each side and did not close properly at night. The window self was high up and the window only opened very slightly.
We were promised 10,000 points which I'm still waiting.
I paid a whopping £155 for a twin. Room which wasn't up to their standards as we have stayed in Crowne Chestet before.
A disappointing stay over for .my son and myself.
Great welcome! Friendly staff. Good food! Comfy room.
Parking is tight with very few spaces and place needs a major facelift
Parking and DecorBang average
Excellent
Hot tub in the bedroom ( only kidding)
Location is brilliant, walking distance to main shopping and dining areas.
Pool is great!
Timings to get in the pool for children differed from what we had been informed by booking.com
Good location and very modern hotel
No faults to report
Lovely warm welcome at Reception! Appreciated busy Reception staff organizing storage of our luggage after check out. Made our last day in Chester so easy!
Lovely comfortable bedroom. Bath/shower would be safer with another grab rail.
Didn't like the loud business person in smelly stocking feet nearby.
Hotel should ban removal of shoes in the Bar!
Great location for walking into Chester.
Booked for our anniversary and we were given a complimentary drink at the bar, check in staff were extremely friendly. Room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was probably one of the best hotel/buffet breakfasts iv had. So much choice and really tasty!
I wish we used the pool/gym facilities
Excellent location. Very near to the shops.
Good size bedroom and bathroom.
Toiletries in the bathroom.
Bath robes and slippers in the room.
All the staff were very helpful and pleasant.
Good choice of food for breakfast and dinner.
Taxi service was available via reception.
Not enough teabags, sugar and varied biscuits in the room by the kettle.
Net curtain at the window was about a foot short for the frame.
