Alexander The Great Beach Hotel

First time in “Alexander the great” hotel, amazing,enjoyed it every second. The staff is professionals, very friendly and helpful, very clean all over, food is delicious, 3 kind of swimming pools, nearby the sea, private beach. Excellent Bar, nearby bus station, Restaurants and shopping Center. We’re definitely going to have another vacation in”Alexander the Great Hotel”.

We got married at Alexander the great beach hotel and it was amazing, the staff could not do enough for us, and the holiday was fantastic, we will definetely be back.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. All the staff where friendly and our daily cleaning lady Aphrodite was fantastic. Food excellent. Sun bed allocation absolutely great. We enjoyed it so much we are returning next year in April to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary. We look forward to seeing all the happy staff and of course Aphrodite our lovely cleaning lady. Also i must say it was my birthday whilst there and we did not tell anyone but we arrived back to the room all decorated with balloons and a lovely cake. So thank you and we look forward to seeing you all next time.

I wrote a review in 2019 about this amazing hotel. We have stayed there twice more since but visited again this June and it has to be one of my favourite ever hotels. I travelled a lot around Europe before retiring in 2014 and stayed in many excellent hotels but Alexander The Great beats them all.

Spotlessly clean, still exceptional friendly professional staff who aim to please in everything they do. Food continues to be superb with wonderful buffets and specialist restaurants which you can prebook to dine in at no extra cost. This year we went to the Asian buffet, the Cypriot evening with classical local dishes, a fabulous Italian evening and the Seven Orchids Pan -Asian restaurant which was truly wonderful. Four delightful courses of delicious food served by exceptional staff and managed by the brilliant RAJU, a real credit to the hotel. The setting outside on a warm evening was fabulous hearing the gentle ripple of waves with a very impressive sunset to watch. A magical evening.

We had the pleasure of meeting the General Manager - Demetris Demetriou - at a cocktail party and it’s no wonder the hotel is so good. He knows everything about how to run a hotel successfully, a charming man and great manager who I believe is highly respected by all staff. Finally, I must mention Jordan, the restaurant manager/ supervisor. Another person devoted to making all guests feel welcome and at home. A delight to talk to every morning.

The hotel is on the beach and has two swimming pools (indoor and outdoor) and a smashing beach bar serving drinks and food. One innovative and really good idea is that on arrival you are allocated a sunbed either by the pool or on one of the grassed areas adjoining the beach, and this is yours for the duration of your stay so no rushing to find a sunbed every morning.
I am sure we shall return again for another relaxing, peaceful break with superb hospitality, food and service. So until the next time, thank you to all staff for a fabulous holiday.

If i was to base my review solely on customer service and location the hotel would be 5 Star ++. The staff were exceptional and special mention to 3 people:

Joana in particular always went above and beyond to ensure service standards were kept to a very high level throughout the day.
The only reason I went for 4 stars for the overall review is that the hotel is starting to look a bit tired in places but I understand the hotel will close for a short period around Jan/Feb 2027 for a major refurbishment which is brilliant news. I look forward to seeing the changes in my next visit.
One thing we did notice was that in the past there was a happy hour around 4 or 4.30 but that has been withdrawn now but not sure why. Normally the Infinity Bar would be packed during happy hour as guests would have a couple of drinks enjoying the views as the sun starting to fall. This year it was definitely more quiet so I hope post refurbishment this is reintroduced as there was always such a great atmosphere with more people at the bar.

We went to this hotel for our honeymoon the end of may! The hotel had put a bottle of bubbly and petals on our bed on arrival, such a lovely touch! The hotel is spotlessly clean, every member of staff so friendly and can’t do enough for you. The location is absolutely perfect on the beach and 10 minute walk to harbour if that! The food was absolutely out of this world! We would definitely return to this beautiful hotel! And very highly recommend!

We recently had our wedding at the Alexander the Great Beach Hotel and it was everything we could have hoped for and more.

From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the beauty of the hotel. The location is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking sea views, beautifully maintained grounds and a fantastic atmosphere throughout. It provided the perfect backdrop for our special day and for the holiday surrounding it.

A huge thank you must go to Chrystalla Savva, our wedding planner, who was simply outstanding. She made the entire process stress-free and was incredibly organised, attentive and professional from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble and thanks to her hard work, our wedding day ran perfectly. We genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better planner.

The wedding itself exceeded all expectations. The ceremony and reception settings were beautiful and so many of our guests commented on how amazing everything looked. The food was exceptional, with the beef short ribs receiving endless compliments from our family and friends, they were an absolute highlight of the meal!

The service throughout our stay was excellent. We’d also like to give a special shout-out to the wonderful gentleman with the moustache who looked after us during dinner service in the hotel restaurants. He was incredibly friendly, welcoming and attentive every single day and always made us feel valued and at home. Staff members like him are what make a hotel truly special.

The hotel facilities, restaurants, pools and overall cleanliness were all first-class. Every member of staff we encountered was warm, professional and genuinely seemed to care about making guests’ experiences memorable.

If you’re considering getting married in Cyprus, we cannot recommend the Alexander the Great Beach Hotel highly enough. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect and we will cherish the memories forever. We look forward to returning in the future, hopefully for an anniversary celebration!

A lovely hotel to visit and all the staff looked after our every need, we really enjoyed all the facilities and were given our own sun beds for the week ahead which was a nice touch, the pool area was lovely and your right on the beach front which is a bonus, there are three restaurants to choose from and the food was of a high standard and some great choices, the hotel should be proud of all the staff which do a wonderful job and are very professional. This was a first visit for my sister and myself to this beautiful hotel. It is in a great location, easy walking distance to the harbour, restaurants and shops. We really couldn't fault the hotel, the staff were fantastic always happy to help in any way. There was a fabulous variety of food in the restaurants and we especially enjoyed the different themed nights. This is a hotel that we will definitely be visiting again!

7th year and we keep coming back!
We visited again in May for another 2 week stay.
Housekeeping did an excellent job and our room was cleaned to a very high standard. The pools and outside areas also kept to a very high standard and the reserved sun lounger system is great and can't understand why other Hotels don't use this system and pool team provide an excellent service. The Italian and Pan Asian restaurants are also available, on themed nights more choice needed for those who don't like spicy food.
Xenia and her team who ensure restaurant service runs very efficiently and all restaurant staff who are very attentive and helpful.
At the pool bar Joana provides an excellent service and made our stay great. All in all we were very valued as guests, customer service team - nothing was too much trouble.

I have been coming to this hotel for the past 20 years. Each time I visit I feel I’m coming home! There is nothing I can fault. The staff are simply amazing and seem to do everything in their power to make their guests happy. People ask why I keep going back every year. It’s simple I tell them, Alexander the Great has everything I could possibly want!

Excellent specialised dining options

We were at the hotel for my daughter's wedding. The hotel staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating with requests and the support and organisation from Chrystalla and her team for the wedding was excellent. The location and setting were fantastic and the food was excellent at breakfast dinner and surpassed our expectations at the wedding. The superior room was of good size, clean and had everything required, with comfy bed and good shower. The balcony was slightly small, but fantastic views of the ocean and Paphios town and some aspects of the room were a little tied and note the shower was within the bath, which not an issue for us but might be for those with any mobility issues. The pool bed allocation was great and the pool attendants would always look to keep our party in groups. Excellent pool and facilities and the fact the sea was a short hop away was a real bonus. The lovely coastal path to Paphos town was a lovely early morning bonus walk/run prior to getting busy later on. Would not hesitate to recommend.

We have been going to this hotel now for 25 years so we think that says it all. The staff are amazing and cannot do enough for you. We choose to have a front Seaview, which is well worth the extra money for the view it gives over the sea and Harbour. The beds are extremely comfortable. Our room was kept spotless and very clean by a lovely lady Nadya. Breakfasts are amazing with such a huge choice. You can choose whether you want to sit inside or outside. Xenia is a big asset to the hotel in the way she and her support staff greet guests going into breakfast or for other meals. The restaurant staff are very friendly and happy to help you with your requirements. Your chairbed is allocated on arrival and that is yours for the duration of your holiday. This is a big plus. You have an outside pool which is very large and inside pool. There is also an area for adults only to have their bed chairs if they want. We highly recommend this hotel.
