Good overall but a bit tired, needs a refresh and a few extra additions to the decor.
Pros:

Great location, nice reception/ bar area, big rooms, solid furniture, lovely garden, lots of trees, spa.

Cons:

Room needed some pictures on the walls - felt a bit dreary. Bathroom needed a bit of attention. Paint peeling in spa changing rooms - needs a refresh. Spa area could look a lot better with some decent decor but it was good nonetheless.

Disappointed
Pros:

Gardens

Cons:

Breakfast was poor and not enough alternatives for a 4star hotel. 3 star experience at best. Some staff seem rushed.

Spa was terrible and didn't reflect 4 star facilities. Drains smelled in the shower next to the sauna. Small pool and honestly it was not the spa relaxation expeerience at all.

Weather has been very warm. Room was incredibly hot and a fan was provided. It was very uncomfortable to sleep in. And didn't rest well. I actually checked out a night early.

Upon arrival it was indicated on a notice in the room that complimentary water was to be found in the cupboard in the room. It was not.

Pros:

Location

Cons:

The distance from reception to room and stairs with lots of bags.
The corridors smelt really bad. Sewage or mould. Room itself didn’t smell and was clean.

Don’t judge a book by the cover. Don’t be fooled by the pics and the reviews. This is a horrible place to stay.
Pros:

Location

Cons:

No AC, had a noisy fan in a hot room. Strong smell of damp. The worst place I’ve stayed in the UK. Could not breathe in the room. Very disappointed and the reviews we read were untrue. Pillows were rubbish. Had a sleepless night. Intended to stay for a week but glad I didn’t. Do not waste your money, time and energy with this place. It’s like going to an old bnb in the 70s. Absolutely disgusting
