Easy access nice and clean fresh looking from the outside
Nothing not to like everthing was in order
Location
Charging to park my car and the mattress was dished
Reception area nice. Bar and restaurant good and outside back area ok. Decking area needs upgrade.
Donkey lit corridors. Lack of signage.
The hotel was clean and breakfast was nice.
Having no hot water or water pressure, reported the issue a few times before we were ultimately moved to another room. For a Marriott property it was disappointing.
We loved the room location and the bed was very comfortable although the rest of the furniture was very dated and scruffy. The breakfast was very nice but a little expensive considering what we paid for our week stay anyway, the evening meals were quite bland and once again expensive for what it was .The staff cannot be faulted, they were absolutely brilliant and bent over backwards to please. The location was well situated and easy access to york and the surrounding areas and the parking was good and relatively cheap.
The bar area was very pub like with not enough sofas or comfy relaxing chairs to make it more welcoming, The worn and dated furniture in the rooms.
The room was comfortable but I was very surprised to find that the hotel does not have air conditioning on air circulation and each room has a portable fan. Also the light switcvhes nearest the bed are not UK standard plub sockets and the neares plug socket was at the foot of a bed. I had to get an extension lead to run my CPAP machine otherwise I wouldnt have been able to sleep.
Location was Fantastic as we were attending York Racecourse
Value for money was terrible ! The Restaurant waitress was rude and didnt care about service but a fee was included on the bill ! The Jaquizzi didnt work in the health club and the staff member wasnt bothered at all just said out of order so cant use. But worse thing was on the Sunday Morning there was no hot water and when the shower did work it was just a trickle phoned reception and they advised to wait as the hotel was full and everyone was trying at the same time waited 30 minutes but no improvement
Easy access to York, great access to Uber. Facilities good
Breakfast could be improved. Asked for poached eggs, were forgotten then hard. Both mornings. Didn't realise there was fruit and yogurt until last day, not sure they were there the other 2 days. They were not near the cereal or rest of the breakfast, so easily missed. Staff were polite and prompt.
Location, good bus route
Air conditioning poor
Housekeeping too late......after 3pm
The staff were all lovely
There wasn’t enough staff in the restaurant in the evening and it was quite overpriced for a basic meal
Very friendly and accomodating staff. Rooms reasonably appointed and comfortable
Top floor room struggled to cool due to the heat, but another room was fine. Showers were pretty small for a larger person.
Close to the race course
Food was hit and miss, room wasn't cleaned , hot tub not working, bed was poor mattress very uncomfortable
Nice decent sized rooms abd bathrooms.
Great breakfast.
Pillows very small and soft, which squashed down to zero.
Having a bar & restaurant on site was very convenient. The pool was nice also and although we didn’t use all that was available gym, sauna etc was good
We were there on what was an exceptionally hot weekend and the room was stiflingly hot, the so called air conditioning was not a no lento cope with the heat and although fans were supplied, the room was very uncomfortably warm. In addition to this there was quite a debacle with room allocation before we were given an acceptable room.
