A very good Stay
Pros:

The staff were very helpfull all the time, nothing ever was too much trouble for them a cridit to the hotel, room had no heating portable heater intalled in the time ask about the heating at reception and returned to room, room clean and tidy , slivht problem with hot water at the sink, would only work if you run the hot tap in the bath but old building not a problem just a bit odd

Cons:

Very cold in the room used as a dinning room,no heating working at all,the lift to dinning room out of service, a slight problem as my wife has mobility proplems, no rezurante any more as under going a refurb, could have food in the ground floor lounge, no heating there also i think the building had no heating for some reason, but over all loved our stay even with these problems

Great spot
Pros:

I loved everything about the old ship and I plan on returning next year

Cons:

Minor thing the breakfast room was up a couple of flights of stairs but I'm sure they would accommodate wheelchair users

Lovely old hotel
Pros:

Loved the old style of hotel. All of the staff we spoke to were wonderful - friendly, efficient and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast room was beautiful - the decor and that it clearly has all the original features of being a dance hall or theatre. The room we had was clean, roomy and had all that we needed. Really convenient for the beach front (we didn't go as it was 50 mph winds and raining), the high street and The Lanes.

Cons:

Nothing really, but I think there are places where the hotel clearly needs some TLC - the corridors looked tired and need some updating.

Friendly, helpful staff, comfy bed, easy trot to the Lanes..Brill
Pros:

Always friendly, accommodating staff. That the dear lift is still in order. That my pooch was able to come and stay.
The bed was comfortable. The room was clean. We love that you are so near to The Lanes. Your front of desk staff made for a happy visit. Assisting in getting us to our room with the luggage and pooch, much appreciated as my husband has dementia. Good luck with the refurbishment. Thank you

Cons:

Whilst the room was clean, it had such an awful odour. It smelt like drains. We had to ask a member of staff to come with a freshener, which sadly he was unable to leave the freshener in our room. The hot water took a good 10 t0 15 minutes to come through the pipes. The remote to the TV required new batteries. Good job we noticed before getting ready for bed. We didn't have breakfast, as the last time we stayed we didn't think it was good value.

Okay but I wouldn’t return until the hotel had been updated.
Pros:

The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and the location is perfect.

Cons:

We have stayed in this hotel many years ago and unfortunately the hotel is starting to show its age. I hope the renovation stays on track and allows the hotel to raise it standards to compete with other hotels on the sea front.

Vintage
Pros:

Es hat Charme. Der Frühstücksraum erinnert an einen victorianischen Ballsaal. Blick aufs Meer.
Sehr nettes Personal! Das Gebäude ist beeindruckend.

Cons:

4 days in Brighton
Pros:

Loved that I got to experience the "old" hotel with its warren of corridors, squeaky floorboards but ever so friendly staff with advice on where to eat. Hotel is due for renovations soon so think a lotvof character will be lost. Lovely scroll about history of hotel. Brilliant location on seafront and right next to Lanes and pier and pavilion and many restaurants. Loved the sound of the wild sea.

Cons:

It was all great... well not the sausages for breakfast ... but thats because its hard to beat an Irish sausage!
