booked a accesable room at the castle green for our second visit after a really nice time a few months ago. they gave me a really nice room walk in shower big bed lounge area coudnt fault it . we had travelled a fair way so after unpacking went to the bar area for drink and some food only to be told no food today we have a chef problem and seeing as we were hungry and just got drinks we called our friends who were calling to see us soon to grab some sandwiches for us. they arrived and we had our cold gregs sarnies ( not good) and after sitting and chatting for 45 mins the waiter then serves the guy on the next table with burger and chips which left us a bit miffed to say the least . next morning we went for breakfast and have to say its the worst breakfast i have ever had , was a buffet b,fast but every thing had been left under the lights for ages sausage dry and shrivelled toms the same and the eggs had been there that long they had turned to rubber like the ones you get in a joke shop also coudnt find any body in the kitchen or any waiters or staff to ask for some fresh food to be cooked. all in all a very poor stay regarding the food problems . but will give it another try some time as it is a really nice hotel
Long corridor layout and stairs - just the way it was extended
Plenty of space in room, would of liked a fridge. evening dinning in the restaurant the food was excellent. Breakfast choice was good. Plenty of parking (shame you have to pay extra for that). Does not have a lift to certain floors/areas.
Charges for parking. As an old building not sure if a lift could be put in.
Breakfast was average, the grounds were nice, the hotel was extremely average for the price.
I was supposed to have a room with Aircon on one of the hottest days of the year. The staff put us in a room with no Aircon, didn't tell us at check-in though, when I walked in the baking hot room and realised the Aircon was broken I called the reception, they just stated they knew the Aircon was broken but only on my floor and there would be no repair. I asked for a room change and was refused. Extremely poor service and very insidious to knowingly put us a room with broken Aircon. A budget hotel would've been better.
Gardenroom was very spacious with excellent view. Wet room was ideal for disabled access.
Main access door was very difficult for using wheelchair as was access to Reception from hallway.Required wheelchair to be pulled through rather than pushed|
Good breakfast, plenty of choice. Buffet cooked breakfast kept hot
Nothing
We were moving house and thought we'd have a night away
Nothing
Beautiful hotel located just outside of Kendall The staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough for you
Beautiful location, room was lovely and clean, pre cooled before arrival and staff, particularly in the restaurant were amazing.
On arrival the room we booked and been given to somebody else so had to wait around for this to be sorted out, we had plans to go out which had to be cancelled due to the wait, then only 1 towel in the room so had to go back to ask for more.
The pool and steam room.
Lack of air conditioning the room was very hot all night
This is not a 4 star hotel, they cater for themselves. No aircon in any of the rooms they supply one table desk fan that is not accommodating to the size of the room. There is no pressure in their shower and there restaurants and staff are less the helpful or friendly
