Quiet hotel close to Gatwick airport
Pros:

We love staying at this hotel especially when we use Gatwick as the main airport. Hotel is surrounded with nature and hotel stuff was extremely friendly and helpful. We arrived very late and our room was too hot and night manager was super fast finding us an alternative. We slept well and on top had a lovely English breakfast at the restaurant.

Cons:

Knowing this property for years, it might need a little facelift. Bedding seems little tired and some decor doesn't fit in the modern style anymore. BUT overall we still like this place.

Disappointing
Pros:

Breakfast was very good and the waitress was very pleasant and welcoming.

Cons:

Room in the mews which we were not made aware of at the time of booking. The room tv was non functioning and staff member claimed the fault lay with the Council! One of the bedside lamps was not working and was told that it couldn’t be repaired. No phone in the room so couldn’t contact reception. Public rooms very cold. £10 + 12.5% for a beer with dinner was excessive. Wine was priced by the glass and no prices for a bottle on the wine list.

Great find!
Pros:

Great location and we were upgraded when we arrived which was great. Would definitely book again.

Cons:

Some very minor issues with the room which were reported to the staff on check out.

Pros:

Old world charm with modern facilities

Cons:

Unable to order breakfast (room service ) via the scanner code provided in the room, it only gave options for snacks or light bites so had to go down to reception and request

Pros:

Amazing history and location, - a night porter! 24 hour front desk. Comfy bed, no airport noise, wifi good enough for Zoom meetings.

Cons:

Lost hot water first night but to their credit, it was fixed asap

A destination in itself not just a place to stay before our early morning flight.
Pros:

Lovely old building with surrounding garden makes this an exclusive venue. The staff were all approachable and friendly. There was no issue with obtaining help with our luggage as there is no lift. High quality relaxing dinner with garden view.

Cons:

No lift but understandable in such an old building and staff cheerfully helped with luggage.

Great staff. Property ready for an update
Pros:

Staff were the highlight - exceptionally friendly and accommodating. We were travelling with a toddler and they were able to arrange a very suitable room for us upon arrival. We very much appreciated this.

Cons:

The hotel itself seems in need of some TLC overall - the interior, exterior and gardens could be exceptional with some greater investment.

We tried the afternoon tea and felt the value for money wasn't there relative to the quality of food (although the scones were very good)

Awesome!!
Pros:

The room was massive and incredibly clean, garden facing, supplied with bottles of water and coffee makers. Absolutely lovely room!!
