I have stayed at the Mercure multiple times before and always enjoy the rooms. The beds are very comfortable, the rooms are quiet, and the showers are always good. You can't get a better location for central station, which made it very easy to get our concert. The coloured lights in the room are also very fun!
Touch screens/tablets for check in and out. I went to the service desk to check in and was the directed to a screen. It's easy enough to use but I'd rather speak to a person.
Very loud and disruptive repairs or renovations happening in lobby. It appeared as through the hotel staff had zero form of hearing protection, while the tradie clearly had large protective earmuffs on. I went as sat outside while I waited for my friend to arrive as it was too loud to comfortably sit in reception.
Perhaps that a good thing about the touch screens is less human staff to be impacted by the noise!
This is our favourite hotel to stay in Sydney. The rooms are spacious and the beds are super comfortable, the breakfast is great and the staff go out of their way to provide help and assistance.

Good location, close to Central Station and Chinatown. Comfy bed and view of George Street. Bathroom clean with nice complimentary toiletries.
Safe didn't work and breakfast could be improved.
I love the staff, they are really helpful. i left my bag in the bar one night and the kind lady staff chase me to give it back to me. You have to ask for some toiletries since not all is provided in the room, like toothbrushes, but the staff were very quick to deliver it to our rooms. Breakfast was amazing, so yummy and many choices.
