Hotel was somewhat clean. Location was convenient.
Potentially the loudest hotel I have stayed in, the stairwell was so loud and just echoed through the room. Bed had a massive hole in the mattress which made for an awful 3 night sleep. Arrived in the evening and had to hunt for a staff member to check us in, which they did without a smile.
Can't comment on the food or drink as we didn't eat. Tried to go for a drink in the bar but couldn't find a staff member.
Nice view and lovely old Victorian building.
The reception area and sitting area is beautiful ,breakfast was always beautiful the kitchen staff during breakfast top notch ,the cleaning people absolutely spotless cleaning.
The room size was very smaller than expected the window, the room was basic for the amount paid for. also the lady that worked in the bar area Friday night had a rather poor attitude, but seemed more positive with other clients ,also I personally approached the receptionist on Friday night to make reservations for Surturday dinner ,was told reservations was made ,wen I went to the dining area surtday night my reservation was not made and I stood by the entrance almost a good 10 minutes before I could get a sit
I liked the seafront location and view of the seed over the gardens. The parking was easily arranged although rather expensive but I guess that is the councils decision which is offputting to visitors. The room price was very reasonable. The hotel was quiet.
Some staff were more friendly and helpful than others
Needs refurbishing. You can hear everything from the next door room and reception lounge music from your room.
Noise
Location was good, with nice views and close to town. We had a toilet that wouldn't stop flushing and someone came to repair it before we even reported it as broken. Liked refreshmentsin the room, though providing some herbal options would be good. Nice big bathroom.
Decor was in need of an update. We had twin beds and one wasn't as comfy as the other Really coffee at breakfast would be nice rather than instant.
The lounge area was ok to have a drink in. Bed was clean and comfortable.
Noisy people upstairs, sounded like they were in the room with us. Plus could smell a horrible breakfast / cooking smell which woke us up. Very old interior, place needs a refurb.
The menue For dinner is Not good
Location was fantastic 👌
Preis war ok
Visited the hotel last night for an evening of music (which was fantastic btw). However the layout of the tables and chairs was badly arranged and as there are a few columns some (including us) didn’t get a clear view of the stage and performers. We went to sit at a table nearer with a better view but it had reserved on it. Asked a lady who was handing out more chairs if we could sit there as we’d booked tickets in advance and was rudely told people had reserved tables, and to get one you had to have e mailed her !! Several people we spoke to said how are you supposed to know that when you book tickets. The venue is worn and tired looking and possibly not the best place to watch a band as there’s quite a bit of restricted view areas. Whilst I was waiting at the bar to be served the same staff member pushed past me, no apology, no backward glance, maybe some customer service training is needed.
Lovely sea view, helpful staff, very reasonably priced.
The rooms were a bit old, but still were very comfortable and well kept
