I didn't actually want to write and post a poor review. I tried to email them directly but it bounced back as undeliverable. So here's what I wrote to them:
Dear Muthu
We stayed with you for 2 nights (checked out yesterday). I normally write reviews, but I won't on this occasion because it sadly would only be a 1 star.
Your staff are welcoming and helpful, the bed linen and towels were lovely and clean. But that is where the positive ends.
The rooms are tired, the bed was so uncomfortable, room 103 the bed was like sleeping on a marshmallow with lumps. The kettle had black bits inside, carpets badly stained, furniture worn.
While I know you are one of the cheapest hotels in town, you are still not worth the money we paid.
Such a shame as you are ruining the experience of a lovely view.
The location
The staff were just average
Great location & nice rooms
No aircon, there was a fan but it was pretty useless
Very convenient for the Cliffs Pavilion
Nothing
The staff were very friendly and helpful
The bed was only okay
Good
Good
Tea making facilities were ok.
Shower didn't work I told staff but they didn't fix it heat in the room was past 30 degrees. There is no shielding throughout the building so you can hear footsteps all the time I could even hear people urinating. Telly didn't work. Card access but old style switches. It reminded me of the Munsters mansion it has seen better says the floorboards sag under you feet as you walk you almost pray they will hold your weight. Crap lift. The bath was corroded and stained. The push down plug was broken. Rubbish plastic kettle. No aircon small windows. Located on npisy road. The hotel is too far away from amenities. I asked for partial refund they refused. The hotel looks nothing like it does in the photoshopped photo.
Price and where it was - right on the front
Could of been cleaner cabinets were not to clean and very shabby
Big room but mismatched furniture
I like the location of the hotel. The decor is nice with a retro feel. Room was spacious and affordable. Hotel staff friendly and helpful.
The lift is quite small and old-fashioned.
Good breakfast. Friendly staff in dinning room.
No toilet brush in bathroom. Stairs to climb with a luggage to first floor. It is a lift but to my room a slope and 3-4 stairs to arrive.
Clean, some staff are still nice
Too much noise coming from the neighbours room and I informed staff they didn’t have any action
Room cleanliness, walk in shower comfort of bed
I had to change rooms due to the rooms being down lots of corridors. The shower was over the bath, which I can't manage safely. A lot of the windows were blown so you couldn't see out! The hotel is looking generally very tired. Very few staff trying to run reception, bar & kitchen, due to this the reception was unmanned for a lot of the time! Trying to find someone to help during the afternoon was a joke!
Location
Unclean, very dated
