From 1st January 2023, a tourist tax of RM 10 per room per night is applied to all foreign guests. This tax is not included in the room rate and must be paid upon check-in. Guests with a valid Malaysian Identity Card or valid permanent residents MY PR Card are exempted. With effect from 1 June 2014, the Penang City Council will be imposing a city tax of MYR 3 per room per night, which is payable directly to the resort upon check-in.

I got a refund
UNSAFE, COMPROMISED DOOR LOCKS - It was an absolutely terrible experience- completely unsafe - I believe they deliberately gave me a comprised room knowing that I was a female solo traveller. Horrible experience.
I immediately noticed something was wrong because the hotel staff gave a me a room where the front door lock was missing its usual black security cover. The lock's wiring, manual override keyhole, emergency override port and battery compartment were all exposed, only flimsily covered with a grey sticker. I asked for a new room, only to be assigned to a room with the same issue, only this time the room was also at the very end of the hallway and next to the emergency exit route. Absolute no-go especially for a female solo traveller. I complained and requested a refund and the staff refused to give me any confirmation in writing, only finally giving me a email confirmation of refund after I badgered them for nearly an hour. Stay away if you value your life.

Right smack in the center. Easy walking distance to all the good food courts. Room was a decent size, clean and comfortable.
No power outlets by the bedside.
The location is good, nearby there is a night market and must try their charcoal char kuih teow is nice.
