Pros:

The room was fine as were the beds.

Cons:

I was surprised and disappointed the spa was not a full-service spa. It never occurred to me to check up on this. I made an assumption that was wrong. Also, the food in the Courtney dining room was just okay. I think I expected a lot more for the price.

Unsupportive customer service
Pros:

We are avid travellers, supporters of great local businesses and service establishments. We booked one night at Magnolia Hotel. Due to a sudden change in health of my wife (diagnosed with terminal breast cancer), we are unable to make our trip out to BC. For one night at Magnolia, they refused to cancel our reservation despite our desire to pay them at least a cancellation fee. They have lost customers and customers friends for life. Thank you for your kindness, Magnolia hotel.

Victoria’s Best Hotel
Pros:

Outstanding hotel. The staff is very friendly, professional and helpful, from the front desk, to the restaurant, to housekeeping. Our Diamond King room was very nice, with a perfect bathroom. The bar/restaurant is great. Highly recommend adding breakfast plan! Location virtually next door to the Empress and inner harbor can’t be beat.
