Friendly and helpful staff
The food was very average
We were upgraded to a suite which was lovely, very airy in the heat, very clean and comfortable, Well serviced every day. The reception, bar and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful.
Disappointed that the restaurant was closed on the night we arrived as meeting up with family for a meal and had to book elsewhere. A lift would have been helpful for us as stairs not easy for us.
🫣
Bedrooms were not very clean carpet was filthy hotel needs a overhaul
We had to leave a night early for a family emergency .. we have asked for a refund for the night we did not stay
Staff were very friendly, very polite, room was comfortable the only thing I would change would be the pillows. They were not comfy in that I had a sore neck in the morning as they were too soft. The bottom sheet slipped a bit and I had expected a flat sheet to be under the duvet as well, during hot weather, that is all you need but it wasn't there as an option in this room on this occasion. Breakfast was smashing, lots of choice, cooked beautifully too.
Pillows I think, they were too soft maybe having one firmer and one softer pillow would give a better option for those that have a bad back or neck I think.
Clean and quiet
Highlight was breakfast outside in morning sunshine by the pond. Appreciated having a large fan in my room otherwise it would have been too hot. Morning manager very helpful. Breakfast staff very good and excellent poached eggs
Evening manager a bit brusque
Friendly staff and attractive setting with pond in garden behind the hotel
The room was in the Aspley Annexe and was vey hot due to the heat wave. The fan provided was rather noisy and only ran for 2 hours before its clockwork timer turned it off. There was a streetlight outside the window, so this meant that I had to fully close the curtains to exclude the bright light, which made the room more stuffy.
Lovely location, friendly staff and a very generous room.
Breakfast was quite good enough for a business day, and the setting is very pleasant.
room was adequate, i didnt have breakfast as I was leaving early for breakfast with friends at a local golf course
all was good, maybe not being in the main hotel wasnt ideal but wouldnt stop me staying again
I came here for an night of 'me time' and a long relaxing hot bath... However, the universe had other plans!.
My stay didn't start well as I was put in a room with a view of two dilapidated garages on the main road side of the hotel. The lovely lady on reception moved me to another room in the cottages but the cottages are basically larger rooms at the back of the hotel and not cottages at all.
I asked for a room with a bath but unfortunately there was no hot water. The staff are a credit to this hotel and did everything to accommodate me, unfortunately the buildings age and need of attention, worked against them.
Aspley Guise is a lovely village surrounded by fabulous woodland dog walks there's a fabulous pub over the road that does the best cocktails and superb home cooked food.
No hot water .. not that they could help the boiler breaking down
Breakfast .. on the strength of the breakfast I was very glad not to eat dinner in the hotel.
Bathroom had no bath plugs, which I thought was pretty poor. The lady at the front desk was very, very nice and tried to get one from housekeeping, but to no avail.
Lovely Georgian era hotel close to the M1. Staff service 8s excellent, Nice breakfast.
Tired hotel. Grounds are weeds strewn. Feels like years of under-investment. Staff are keeping this place running. Owner needs to put some capital into this lovely old hotel. It could be amazing!
The last review I posted on Trip Advisor for this Hotel, had a couple of minor criticisms within it. However, I have to say, following the Manager's (Zoltan Szentpeteri) response to my review, our stay this time was lovely.
He took on board my comments and reached out to me. It was his swift response and understanding that encouraged us to book to stay here again (this is our third overnight stay at Moore Place). I think more Hotel Managers could learn from his approach to feedback. In my experience, alot of Manager's don't even respond to reviews so I was very impressed that Zoltan took the time to reply.
We had a lovely, large room on the ground floor over looking the garden. Large bathroom with two sinks and a shower with a double shower head. The lounge area is really comfortable and the staff very friendly and welcoming.
The reason I only awarded 4 stars is purely because we have not yet had the opportunity of having an evening meal in their Restaurant as, on each occasion we've stayed here overnight, the restaurant has been closed due to a private function. I would, however, say that the bar snacks were lovely and the cooked breakfast we had was very nice.
We will stay again.
