Had a great stay at Village Hotel in Coventry. We were staying as a result of a competition win with 7 other family members and the staff were extremely nice, polite and helpful. Daniel (the manager I think) was constantly making sure we were all ok and looked after us like royalty. Food and service was top too.
In the morning I'd found a small mystery charge on my CC but I spoke to Michael (also a manager I think) and I have every faith he'll get it sorted.
Thank you for a great stay and if we're back in Coventry needing a bed for the night I'm sure we'll stay here.
Helpful staff
Bathroom lovely

No Air conditioning
Nothing really
There was no ac in the room it was very very hot and found it very hard to get a good nights rest also the beddings was dirty i have taken pictures of that also
We booked the Village Hotel Coventry for our wedding night, expecting it to be a memorable start to our married life. Before our stay, I contacted the hotel through Booking.com explaining that it was our honeymoon night and politely asked whether they could make it as romantic as possible or offer any upgrades or enhancements. Unfortunately, none of our requests were acknowledged. On arrival we were simply handed the key to the standard King Room we had booked. The room contained no welcome card, no complimentary gesture, no decorations, and there was only a room service menu on the bed. There were also insufficient towels for two guests. It felt like no effort had been made to recognise what was a once in a lifetime occasion.
The hotel completely ignored the special request made in advance for our wedding night. I appreciate that special requests cannot always be guaranteed, but even a simple congratulations card, towel arrangement, complimentary drink or acknowledgement at check-in would have shown some thought. Instead, our request appeared to have been overlooked entirely, which was very disappointing.
Unfortunately there is no air conditioning in the bedrooms which was pretty unexpected for a modern building. I visited in the middle of a heat wave so obviously the room was too hot and I had to check out early. Breakfast was quite disappointing. I came down at 8.40 and a lot things had not been refilled. The scrambled eggs appeared to be rehydrated rather than made from fresh eggs. The staff can be quite surly and unfriendly. Basic manners such as smiling and saying good morning when greeting guest were sometimes lacking. The gentleman at the bar kindly refilled my water bottle when I asked which I was grateful for.
