Rooms were spacious.Staff were friendly. Very nice breakfast.
Good location for using local buses.
Having to pay extra for parking
Poor lighting in bathroom and bedroom for doing make up
Location not great for getting to the Arena. The hotel was offered as a package for the Take That concert.
We booked taxis in advance so quite expensive.
The relaxed atmosphere
There was scaffolding outside my window and the windows could not be opened fully. The scaffolding made the room very dark. I was woken early by builders in the scaffolding. There was swearing and talking loudly. They had a radio on at full volume. I was stopping here overnight for the funeral of a close friend. To be honest I’d have preferred to not have been getting ready for this whilst 90’s dance anthems were playing loudly. There was no warning of the building work at point of purchase or at check-in.
check-in was easy and quick (as was check-out)
The Gym was fabulous - i know Village hotels have a good rep for having good gyms (i was a gym member at my local one for years) - but it really was good with multiple rooms and studios including a 'strength' focussed room which i really enjoyed.
Parking was good - i used the electric car chargers which were a bit pricey but convenient - although, i am never sure why hotels invest in 8 or 9 'fast' chargers (these were 400Kw - so very fast!) when as a hotel guest i'd rather have a slow charger which is "bookable" and i'd park the car up all night on charge - but anyway - it seems to be Village policy to have fast ones.
Bar area was nice and had a good selection of beers on tap - i liked it there.
room was a bit odd... - the club room was miles away (and an elaborate route of ups and downs) from reception.
There was a bit of a freshly-painted smell about the place - but the weirdest thing was that it was a large room but no real bits of furniture in there. A large gap between bed and window seemed missing a couple of chairs and a table - maybe it was missing those?
negative point - even though it was booked for two adults, we were sharing just one towel! - great
Noise, distance to lift, room was very hot with no way of making cooler, outside was too noisey for windows to be open at night
Good polite service and very efficient
Breakfast very good but plates were cold
Cold plates at breakfast
Having to pay for parking
Getting in and out was smooth and quick
Room for 2 should have minimum 2 towel ,lights should be more,
Stated here while exhibiting at the Great British Farm Fest. I can honestly say that the staff went above and beyond whilst we were working a busy festival. Even when we made an error with an extra night booking, they went out of their way to sort it for us.
A hot weekend for us, but they didn’t mind refreezing our cold packs to keep our cold-boxes chilled over the 4 night stay.
The food was great, even given a takeaway and coffee when time was tight one morning.
Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable with everything we needed.
Thanks to the whole Village Coventry Team! Great job!
The hotel was clean comfortable, and we'll signposted was there for a function, and didn't get lost (also wasn't drinking, that may or may not be relevant.)
Lovely breakfast with plenty of choice, including my favourite dark fruit mix.
I was right at the end of the corridor, so no noise from passing guests - great!
Just a minor point, corrosion on the bathroom door handle with a couple of sharp edges.
Conveniently close to NEC (cca 15 minutes by car). Very good value for a big room, separate bathroom (not that kind of bathroom within a bedroom as at other Village hotels). I appreciated shampoo and body wash toiletries included ( no conditioner).
Didn’t use the swimming pool but it looked so good! 3 jacuzzis!!! Also staff was very friendly and helpful!
Restaurant on site isn’t cheap but pretty comparable with pub food prices nowadays. Pub classics we had like gammon and fish&chips were tasty!
As with other Village hotels, the walls are made of paper so noise carries throughout the hotel.
Nice bar area
No AC in room, not even a fan, during a heatwave??
