Ibis Styles - basic accommodation let down by a lumpy sofa bed
Pros:

I aim to be fair and accurate in my reviews. I wanted to like Ibis Syles as it has a young vibrant feel stepping into the entrance. But I can only recommend Ibis Styles if you are seeking basic budget accommodation with no frills and you have no need of an extra sofa bed. I have taken my daughter around the world and she has never slept on a worse sofa bed. The wires were visible and the mattress was appallingly low quality. The maintenance crew informed us the bed was not fit-for-purpose. I truly hope they replace the sofa mattresses on a regular basis. The situation was exacerbated when I was offered a refund by the duty manager if I did not post a negative review. Then a senior manager stepped in and redeemed Ibis by transferring us to a different room. His skill and care is the only reason why I have not posted a one-star review as he truly tried his best to remedy the fault and find a solution. However if you are seeking a peaceful and restful place, this is not it. There is not enough attention paid to details. The lifts were crowded and the cleanliness was subpar. On the upside, the breakfast is decent, the location is central and the staff are friendly. Best stay here if you are in a large group and don’t expect any finesse.

Comfortable and clean, friendly staff.
Pros:

The staff were friendly, check in and out was really quick and simple. The bed was comfy and the room was clean. The onsite restaurant and bar was great and good value.

Cons:

It would have been great to be able to stream to TV - the TV was older style that didn’t seem allow this. I tried to call reception to ask, but the phone rang out for some time and I gave up and watched regular TV..

We had a great time and will definitely book again if we are back in Sydney.
Pros:

Location was the best. All within walking distance to everything. Meeso restaurant was also good and we played some free video games there while eating.
