This is a great hotel if you want to experience a „grand hotel“ vibe. Food was excellent, staff very friendly and attentive

Cons:

I had a garden room because I did not care for the opera view (I was afraid of too much noise from the main street). Maybe the opera view rooms are different. My room itself was a good size and the bed was great, however you could smell the oldness and mold which is unacceptable. I stayed only three nights but booked a modern hotel for my following style. The bathroom is also unacceptable in my view. While of course I enjoy the original furniture and wooden crafted chairs etc, the bathroom was at least from the sixties, if not older. The tiles were broken, there is only an old dirty bathtub, no separate or walk-in shower, which (sorry) I would expect for that price. Again, the smell of humidity and mold is the point why I will never book again this old historic hotel.

A unique experience in the perfect place
Pros:

The Continental is a fabulous hotel, steeped in history. It retains the elegance of colonial France, and includes the energy of modern Vietnam. Located in the very centre of HCMC, next to the Opera House, it’s walking distance to local shops and restaurants. Breakfast is filling and delicious. The Opera view rooms have small balconies which give a view on the vibrant square. We saw the Bamboo Orchestra perform, had massages in side streets and enjoyed the scenery, it was as if the city came to us. The rooms are quiet and spacious

This is the heritage hotel as I expected. The room, service and breakfast food were all awesome. I love that it's across the street from the Opera House or House of Congress. I love that they know how to cherish the hotel heritage with a dedicated wall with memorable photos. Very classy.

Cons:

I was convinced to upgrade my room to another larger one. Maybe it was not larger, but the view might not be as good due to a tree blocking view to the Opera House.

First class house in a traditional style. Hospitality at its finest.
Pros:

We arrived early morning after a night spent in airplanes. The staff welcomed us friendly, made accommodations for the very early check-in and ushered us to a large room with hardwood flooring, a giant bed, an excellent bathroom and matching furniture throughout. The breakfast buffet in the garden is rich, the staff is friendly, quick and helpful.
This was an experience beyond expectation.

Cons:

The only drawback was that we had to leave.

Pros:

The staff was very accomodative. Room is cliean and cleaners are very attentive. Buffet spread is good. Super strategic location.

Cons:

The fixtures and furniture throughout the hotel and rooms seem a bit too dated. Semi outdoor buffet can get a bit warm on a hot day.

Pros:

Fantastic breakfast selection with large variety of Asian and Western options. Courtyard facing room was very quiet despite being in middle of the city. Good AC in room kept it cool and dry.

Cons:

Despite the high price, there was lots of signs of age and wear showing throughout the hotel on fixtures, floors, walls and ceiling. Not enough to be a real issue, but enough it was hard to ignore.

Delightful heritage hotel
Pros:

We prefer atmospheric hotels and the Contental didn't disappoint. Made famous by Graham Greene and a popular hangout for media during the Vietnam/American War, the hotel is full of atmosphere and heritage features. We particularly loved our spacious suite and the buffet breakfasts served in the delightful courtyard garden. The location is excellent (D1) and the staff are helpful, although the staff in the restaurant can be a little diffident.

Parfait voyage dans le temps je recommande vivement
Pros:

Tout et surtout la gentillesse du manager car hôtel côté opéra view était complet et il nous a trouvé une chambre malgré tout.
Un surclassement nous a été proposé avec un tarif préférentiel pour une belle suite

Cons:

La vue depuis la suite ne permet pas de voir l opéra et il manque une petite table et chaises sur le balcon
