Comfortable stay in a grand place that could do with some attention.
Pros:

Grand stately building with large garden, cosy library and seating areas, clean rooms. Good breakfast and dinner.

Cons:

Property though grand is a bit dated. Could do with some spit and polish.

The hotel is understaffed esp during breakfast when they also host large conferences. The staff are really pushed hard and yet stay polite and serve well. Surely the management should look into this if the want to continue to attract clients.

Will actively discourage colleagues from staying.
Pros:

The entrance and main building is lovely but the rooms in the annex are borderline unsuitable. Very dated, cold and not at all in keeping with the rest of the building.

Cons:

The receptionist was incredibly rude and unwelcoming. Even a colleague commented at her bluntness at having to print off an invoice. Handed it to me like I was an inconvenience, no eye contact and huffed at requests.

Years ago it was my preferred hotel in Aberdeen, if needs TLC to bring it back up to speed
Pros:

Staff are great they make the hotel experience much better, as mentioned below solved my WiFi issue.
My preferred breakfast options were additional cost, so was an coffee option other than very strong coffee adding milk made coffee cold.
Great Parking

Cons:

Room is tired needs attention, tv remote did not work tv screen damaged, WiFi for the hotel was broken luckily staff allowed me access to a room with WiFi.
Bathroom taps have no tops to gain pressure tap had to be fully open.
There is a fee of £5 per piece of luggage if you require assistance

Exquisite and a real hidden gem!
Pros:

Everything from the scenery and gardens to the building and interiors. It was like something from a movie. Or even Harry Potter!

Cons:

That I didn’t know about this before. I’ll be back!

Overall a disappointing experience
Pros:

Spacious room with view of trees.

Cons:

The food in the restaurant was frankly mediocre. The route to the room required us to take a couple of lifts (unclear why) and was difficult to navigate. The Victorian era decor in the public spaces was heavy and rather oppressive.

Charme d’antan
Pros:
