substandard for Mercure
Pros:

Nothing - I would not recommend it

Cons:

shower over the bath was dangerous - nowhere to hold onto when steeping back onto the floor. not railing. now where to hang a towel. Noisy - room on front near rod. no sound proofing. the curtains did not block out the light from the road. they didn't cover the whole window. the elevator was dangerous - regardless of the warning to watch your step.

Bad experience, feels like staying on dirty campsite
Pros:

Nothing

Cons:

Whole entire place is pathetic, there was cockroach roaming around on the dirty carpets of the lobby, very noisy place you feel like sleeping on the street, didn’t use the lift as it feels like it will fall off anytime or we get stuck inside.
Room bulbs were fused and sinks were clogged,
No exhaust in toilets
Overall experience is bad

I would not recommend this hotel to anybody other than being a good location to the RMH and RCH
Pros:

Close proximity to the Royal Melbourne hospital.
Our son was having an operation in the RMH and it was a place that we could stay to be close by at the time of the operation.

Cons:

Reception staff were not very friendly and made mistakes.
The hotel was old and needed a lot of maintenance and repairs. The room keys failed on several occasions and my daughter in law was locked outside at 4am because of her key card not working.
We had enough on our mind worrying about our son’s operation without having all of these other things go wrong.

Pros:

Great location for Peter Mac. Nice to have a restaurant. Great dinner. Having parking is great.

Cons:

Lift needs and update. Lift noisy at night. Kettle had bugs and metal from the element. Cold in restaurant. Parking expensive.

Great location and accomodation in North Melbourne.
Pros:

Very close to Royal Children’s Hospital. 24 hour manned desk, great for late check in. Staff were very helpful. Joined Accor during check in to enable access to free late check out. Comfortable bed and flexible arrangements to suit our needs.

Cons:

Some parts looked in need of an upgrade.
