Absolute systemic failure—left me stranded at night
Cons:

​I experienced an appalling level of service and a complete failure of duty of care from Booking.com regarding my stay at Ayres Suites Mission Viejo.
​I proactively modified my check-in date through support (confirmed by agent Gaurav S.). However, Booking.com’s system failed to charge the additional room rate difference to my valid credit card on file. Instead of alerting me to their processing error, they unilaterally cancelled my reservation without notice while I was on a flight to Los Angeles, citing an "unpaid balance."
​When I arrived at the property, the hotel turned me away, stating nothing could be done. Booking.com support did not offer a "remedy" until 9:39 PM—hours after I was already stranded and forced to pay out-of-pocket for a last-minute room at a completely different hotel.
​To make matters worse, after ignoring my messages for a week, customer service is now refusing to waive the cancellation fees, attempting to blame "hotel policy" for a cancellation caused entirely by their own billing glitch.
​I am currently initiating a formal fraud/chargeback dispute with my bank to get my money back. Do not trust this platform with your travel plans; their system errors will leave you stranded on the street with zero immediate support.
