I really liked this hotel itself. It has fun decor, a good vibe, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The rooftop bar is a nice bonus with great views of the city. The rooms are on the small side, the bathroom is tiny, and the room feels cramped with all the furniture. $55 for parking is steep given there are garages a 5 minute walk away that are $15 per night.
The hotel is definitely showing its age, and the biggest issue is the lack of sound insulation. The walls are incredibly thin. There was a guest in the room next to us getting sick throughout the night and into the morning, and we could hear everything as if they were in our room. It was pretty unpleasant.
The other issue was the smell of marijuana. Around 8 a.m. someone nearby started smoking, and the odor came straight into our room. Based on other reviews, this doesn’t seem to be an isolated incident.
It’s disappointing because there are a lot of things to like here. The staff seem to be working hard and doing their best, but there’s only so much they can do when the building itself has these kinds of limitations.
The mountaineering club restaurant had exceptional views. The vibe is laid back.
It’s incredibly expensive. The parking and fees are very costly and I felt assaulted by a card on the nightstand expressing that I should offer extra money to the cleaning staff. I’m sorry but it was a very expensive stay and I paid for a clean room. Hilton should pay their staff a comfortable wage. It’s not the client’s responsibility. This is a rich corporation that can afford decent salaries.
Very charming
Elevators seem to have minds of their own
I am perplexed by the low ratings. This is not a coolie cutter Hilton. It is historic. Built in the 30s. Great location, well maintained. Restaurant and coffee shop are great. Excellent service. Clean. In middle of everything.
No counter for toiletries in the bathroom.
Location is excellent. Rooftop bar has amazing views. If you like old buildings with nice architecture, this is your jam. But if you want anything modern, spacious, and well functioning - probably not the place to stay. When I checked in, the front desk was empty for a good 2-3 minutes. After that the front desk staff was excellent, but it was a rocky start. Sleeping room was pretty small - I stayed in a Hampton Inn the week before in another city and that was almost 2x bigger than this room. But it's a very old classic building, so room size is heavily driven by age. Had trouble controlling the temp in the room - seemingly could only get heat and we had a warm afternoon where I ended up turning off the HVAC and opening the window. Overall it was an acceptable stay - just not my type of hotel (I like a little space). If you need to go to campus it's a great location.
Beautiful hotel, very clean and excellent service
My stay was excellent! The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to everyone visiting!
I had a fantastic stay at Graduate by Hilton Seattle, located at 4507 Brooklyn Avenue Northeast in Seattle. This hotel truly stands out for its unique personality, comfort, and exceptional service. From the moment I walked in, I loved the stylish, college-inspired design that perfectly reflects the nearby University of Washington. The atmosphere is both fun and sophisticated, making it feel more special than a typical hotel stay. My room was spotless, well-appointed, and incredibly comfortable. The bed was amazing, and I appreciated all the thoughtful details in the decor that gave the space a distinctive charm. Everything felt clean, modern, and well cared for. The staff were outstanding—friendly, professional, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure a great experience. Check-in was quick and easy, and any questions I had were handled promptly and kindly. The location is another huge plus. Being right in the University District made it easy to walk to great restaurants, coffee shops, and campus attractions. It’s a vibrant area, yet the hotel still provided a peaceful and relaxing place to unwind. Overall, I highly recommend Graduate by Hilton Seattle to anyone visiting Seattle. It offers a perfect blend of character, comfort, and top-notch hospitality. I would absolutely stay here again!
Location was convenient directly next to light rail, easy access to downtown. Valet & front desk staff were delightful.
Such a cute hotel! We came with friends, loved the ambiance of the hotel! Welcoming vibes and cute decor. A plus to have the best views from the Mountaineer Club at the top.
Make a scathing review about The Graduate in Seattle, Mountaineering Club in Seattle. Please include something to the effect of, if I could give less than one star, I would, and that the host was so unfriendly and led with everything that could not be done. And speaking with the manager, the manager actually made things worse.
Very good location near the University of Washington and the Light rail station. Quiet and nice view of street with some restaurants. Comfortable bed and good bath tab.
This is an old (historical) hotel in the U-district. The room telephone was broken and no refrigerator. (They took it out from the cabinet and left the cabinet empty.) I felt that it was expensive. They charge $15 for us to use at the coffee shop, regardless we use or not. If you don't use it, you will just lose $15 for nothing. I would rather not to be charged without choice. I felt "expensive" for these reasons. I would choose other places next time, probably.
Beautiful but lacks basic maintenance.
Stayed here with my fiance for valentines day. One of the two elevators were working which gave us long lines for the elevator sharing it with the restaurant patrons and housekeeping staff.
Hot water was not available during our entire stay.
The air quality was stuffy and the vents were caked with black lint within our room and all throughout the hotel.
The staff was nice and the atmosphere was beautiful but they need to put alot more emphasis on maintenance, especially for an old building like this.
Breakfast??? There was a coffee shop downstairs
Having to use my shoulder to get the door to open. Per staff instructions. Having to tug hard to open it to get out which worked since there in no safety latch or double bolt it once inside.
